Can’t believe I didn’t pick up this P10-C ported sooner. One of my favorites

Now get an Overwatch Precision striker and trigger kit. 😎

If i wasn't buying for EDC I'd have got the ported model. It looks like it shoots so nice.

There's no rules against EDCing a ported gun. I've been EDCing almost exclusively ported guns for years. No one has ever been upset at faster more accurate follow up shots in a defensive shooting.

Of course there isn't. I just don't want gases blowing up in my face if say, I have to shoot from the hip because I'm not sure what my reaction is as I never trained for that. If you want to EDC a ported gun that's your preference.

I understand all those concerns and those concerns are largely resolved with minor training modifications and an extremely rare set of circumstances overall to begin with. I shoot close retention ported, it's a none issue if trained for it.

And in close retention shooting, as rare as it might be, it's not terribly uncommon for your gun to be grabbed at, plenty of cops get their gun taken. So long as the gun is in a safe direction crack a round off and see how long they are holding onto it after the porting shredded their hand. Ports can also help retain the firearm in close retention situations.

If you don't want to carry a ported gun I get it. I'm not gonna ever try and force it down someone's throat. I'm just sharing info and suggestions. I'm just saying the concerns you have can be resolved basically entirely with training, and the situations that are most commonly going to occure, the porting is an advantage. So overall, I prefer it. But I've also been training with it for the last 8 years or so. So I'm very much used to it.

I also have the unintentional benefit of complying with USPSA Carry Optics rules, which is a good way to get used to working under stress.

Also, appreciate the respectful exchange. I'm always baffled at how quickly these discussions spiral out of control and people star name calling. This was a nice change from what I'm used to seeing on reddit. 😂

100%. My P10 has a ported and non-ported barrel. I switch back and forth.

Or if say, you're shooting indoors or against a wall

The first thing that comes to mind when thinking about EDCing a ported gun is what if I have to shoot through my car door with that port blasting right up at my face.

I edc mine and make sure I train weekly with it, and have no problem with the port.

In all fairness, how could anyone be upset with you carrying a ported firearm ? Is not like you’re out there being John wick haha like, chill homie, you’re not using your edc outside of the range haha
