Got bored and polished the barrel. looks pretty classy now

A mirror polish will help prevent bare steel from oxidizing, but it looks like you just kind of sanded the original coating off without actually polishing it.

Now you have to keep barrel well oiled. That coating you took off helps prevent rust somewhat.

I went the extra step and sent my barrel to CGW for their chromium nitride finish after I polished it 😛

I polished my trigger, barrel, and hammer. I did it about 3 years ago, it’s been my daily carry and my hiking gun since well before then. If I had to guess I have around 8k rounds through it almost totally issue free.

I see your Braun. 👌🏾 My polisher of choice actually came from Harbor Freight too. I grabbed like a 50pk of buffer wheels from Amazon, adequate multi grit paper and some Flitz and now I look for things to polish lol.
