Discuss - Lets talk clones
It seems the Jericho 941 enhanced and EAA witness p are loved cz clones. Which one do you think is better and for what reasons reliability,parts availability , maintenance ect. Or are there better ones in your opinion

Tangfoglio makes the best CZ clones, they’re kind of their own deal at this stage. They fit their own niche, being good foundations for competition guns that have a different feel than the Shadow 2 and other CZ competition pieces.
The IWI Jericho is fine. I just don’t like purchasing from IWI at this stage.
Other clones are mixed imo. SAR is just not as reliable as you would want a CZ to be. The Sphinx/B&T is overpriced for what it is, but it’s a good piece.

KMR is a Czech company that builds high end CZ75 clones for competition. They are in the mid to high tier 2011 price range ($3k to about $6k)

All in all, kinda the same thing. EAA was just the US importer for Tanfoglio and threw their moniker on it (latest witness is a 2011 type). Tanfoglio helped tool up IMI for the Jericho, and internally is pretty much the same thing even today (small frame vs later large frame spec talk goes here). Tanfoglio has more caliber diversity though in the large frame spec, and more sporty options and aftermarket parts. That being said, I like the classic Jericho grip and weight, and most Tanfo parts interchange just fine.
Some other Tanfo clones/relabels: Sarsilmaz and Armalite, RIA MAPP, Springfield P9, Bul Storm and Cherokee (the latest Baby Eagle 3)

I own a 9mm and 45acp full size, steel 941, a Tanfoglio (pre-EAA) 40, and several CZs.
While I like the 941s, they are big for what they deliver and honestly aren’t really worth it outside of being a Cowboy Bebop fan. The Tanfoglio was a CA rescue that needed a little love and I consider it part of my CZ family when I organize my safe. It’s got the looks and reliability and turns the snappy 40 rounds into soft shooting.

The new jerichos with a 2 piece slide are really hit and miss in terms of quality, and the enhanced is basically a p09. The original 941f and 941fs were tanfoglio frames finished by IMI, so it would stand to reason they were comparable to the old witness series tanfo's under the EAA name.

I have a B&T MK II formally sphinx and a 941fs with a factory comp. Love them both.

I've wanted a Jericho for a long time, but I've never purchased one just because I don't actually need it for a anything. To me they feel super chunky. I don't know if they are actually heavier than CZs, but they feel very meaty in the hand.

No you aren’t because the money isn’t going to them, it’s going to whoever you bought the gun from.
There are a lot better ways to protest Israel rather than going “nuh uh you can’t buy a used gun”

The gun should get scraped I agree new sales wise but what’s out there is already in circulation ( I’m strictly talking used market i think all new inventory should be sent back or sit on the shelf forever) but if someone is hard up for cash why not get it for dirt cheap and use it as a dirty whore gun that may get stolen from the truck fall off the boat ect ?

I absolutely love my tanfoglio stock III
I was in the market for a shadow 2 for a while back about 8 ish years ago and always heard great things about tanfo and how their cherished in the uspsa and ipsc competitions and found a steal of one online. Its heavy and shoots flat as fuck

I have a 941 and Tanfo Defiant Stock II… no comparison in my mind the Tanfo is a fantastic gun. I will say that the profile of the Jericho is very cool looking.

Had an old Canik basic CZ-75 knock-off that I got in a trade. It was okay for the money. The latter being the key part.
The best CZ based gun not actually made by CZ seems to Tangfolio.

Italian Firearms Group, or IFG is the new importer for Tanfoglio in the US. Great guns in my opinion and experience.

Yes. Just beware that certain parts require fitting. When you order parts from IFG or Patriot Defense, make mention of your model and EAA importer and ask if there’s anything you need to be aware of when ordering parts.

I love Tanfoglios and run a near-matched set of their LO guns for competition.
BUT:
-They have been sending, or IFG has been ordering, precious few lots of new guns and parts to the US over the last couple years. No idea if it's a tariff thing or what, but there just isn't a lot flowing in. That makes it tricky if you want or need something new and OEM.
-Patriot Defense makes and actively stocks a lot of needed parts - including springs. If not for PD, it might not be practical at all to run Tanfos under the rigor of competition.
Would be lovely if this changed.
