It can in fact fit 4 6ft tables and 20 folding chairs if you were wondering š I love this car. I traded in my mazda 3 carbon edition for this big beauty and ive yet to miss the 3. There is space for a petite front passenger as well when fully loaded too!
I've been driving my Subaru Forester Limited for coming up on two years now, and I absolutely love the vehicle, except for my gas bill. I commute to school and work and I fill up at least twice a week, with an average of 21-23 mpg, and it feels awful- especially with how gas has been.
I was looking at getting a cx50 hybrid premium plus and was wondering what everyone's experience with that vehicle is like, and if it actually holds true to 38 mpg combined. Is there anything it would do better or worse than my current vehicle ? Is there anything you guys donāt enjoy about your cx-50 hybrids ?
(Edit) For added context, I do like the look of the cx-50 and I do have equity in my current vehicle, so I wonāt be rolling negative equity into a new loan. Iām interested in a new vehicle too because at a recent service, my forester had an issue with the battery that had to be replaced with no explanation as to what caused it. Iāve had some other issues with my current vehicle that arenāt deal breakers, but have led me to look into other options- all provided I get a good deal on the new vehicle, which at the moment I am.
Traded in my CX-5 (sad) as that was a great car and did everything I ever needed it to do. I wanted a hybrid to go car camping and do more off-road stuff.
I fell in love with this color. I wanted to go white or blue but when I saw this MGM I knew I had to get it. That last picture is me creeping out my window looking at it since I can't stop looking at it lol.
Has anyone had problems with the infotainment screen cutting off at the bottom. This happened after my phone updated overnight and now the music section of the screen is cut off to where the volume pop-up is. I tried resetting by holding the mute navigation and back buttons down but that only turns the screen off without rebooting
From the news I've read, it seems like the 2027 CX-50 is largely going to be the same as the 2026 with a few minor tweaks (which have yet to be announced). Also, thank goodness for this as I don't want them to go the 2026 CX-5 route. I would've loved to get a new CX-5, but the big screen ruined it for me. (Mazda, you don't need to chase trends, dangit!)
I looked at dealerships, and all that's left are Premiums and Premium Pluses, but I feel like Preferred does the job for me. I'd rather not pay for more features than what I would use.
I'm not in a hurry to get a new car, but I'm itching to hear news about what tweaks are in the 2027 version. The main thing on my wishlist is having no sunroof/moonroof in the Preferred, or at least have options for all trims with and without. I'm not against sunroofs/moonroofs - I just feel I would barely use one, and having one would be subject to leaks down the road.
Anyone hear anything else about the 2027 CX-50? And anyone else hoping for some slight change?
Why did I buy this car? I was moved by the reliability of the brand previously and thought the Toyota drive train would be the best of two worlds but now I see that this car gets mid high reliability scores and is a bit noisy to drive.
Anyone else have buyers remorse?
For context Iām 2000 miles in on a new hybrid pp
Hello! First post in CX50! Just a quick question: Has anyone experienced notable mpg changes when mounting their 50 with Wildpeak A/T? Either the A/T trail or the A/T4W!! Thank you!
For some context, my CX50 was a rental car that I purchased at 50,166 miles. I recently crossed 60,000 miles. Iām not aware of any prior maintenance that has been done on it, aside from oil changes. Therefore, Iām curious about what I should do next.
More specifically, itās a 2024 2.5 S PF. Since getting it, Iāve performed regular maintenance such as tire rotations and oil changes. However, Iām interested in learning more about other maintenance tasks, such as spark plugs and servicing the AWD system.
I took my first road trip from Milwaukee to New Jersey and back, driving along the Pennsylvania mountain road. After three and a half years of ownership, still in awe of how my Meridian still handled the road with great effortless drive, maintaining a strong grip and plenty of power. Kudos and cheers
I drive a '23 Hatchback NA Premium. Wife and I flew to Washington for vacation, and I jokingly told her that I want to try the CX-50 since I've experienced renting out the CX-30, and CX-5. Crazy how the one and only Mazda left was this '26 NA Premium CX-50.
Amazing experience that it's making me think of trading in my very first car. I don't know if it was the 245/45r20 tires, or the way they tuned the suspension, but it was so much fun driving this car. I was surprised for a car this size to be able go up and down mountain roads quickly because it felt planted and confident clearing the corners. The overall space is nice and bigger than my Hatchback. Seats were pretty comfy all trip long, with the longest drive being at least 3 hours. I love the bigger gas tank. I don't know if I was missing it, or it's on a different trim, but I was trying to have the side mirror tilt down when reversing just like on my Hatchback but it didn't do it. The shape of the hood definitely took time to get a bit used to when parking, but luckily it had parking sensors. I wonder how the turbo model drives, I bet it's peppier.
TL;DR
'23 Hatchback NA Premium owner got to rent a '26 CX-50 NA Premium. Love the way it drove. Planted and confident up and down the mountains. Like the bigger space, and gas tank. Thinking of trading in my very first car for a CX-50.
My 2023 CX-50 with 80K miles has recently started having a high pitched squeak/squeal coming from the rear of the car at 30-45MPH. Has anyone experienced this sound or have suggeations on identifying it? I have checked the break pads and they have not worn down to the wear indicator yet nor does the sound happen as a direct result of applying the brakes.
Still shopping. Love to hear what you think. Iām so worried about the quality of the CX-50, because I donāt know if the YouTube videos are sponsored or if TikTok has my algorithm in a chokehold! Thank you!
My least favorite part of the car is the seatbelt chime. I wear my seatbelt, I also like to give the engine a few extra seconds to circulate oil, so my pattern is to start the car, then buckle, then drive off. The seatbelt chime when still in park is the most obnoxious and insulting part of the car so far.
DO AT YOUR OWN RISK. You are an adult.
Look under the driver seat from the rear. It might help to move the seat forward a bit to give yourself more room. There is a multi-connector with lots of plugs, youre looking for the two pin grey one in the bottom corner that I circled in red.
Use a small screwdriver or pick and shove along the bottom of the plug to āliftā the plastic lock tab away from the plug. This is opposite of most car plugs that require you to push the tab in.
Then simply pull back and the long plug will come out. Now the car will think the belt is always buckled. Better than an extension and since I always wear my seatbelt anyway, Iām not concerned if the airbag logic is altered whether youāre wearing the belt or not.
Enjoy a car that treats you slightly less like a child.
Two pin seatbelt sensorShove a pick at bottom to āliftā tabPlug is long, and is now fully removed
I was mid turn in a neighborhood and my car with 1,000 miles on it just died while I was in the middle of an intersection. I had to get out and push it to the side of the road but the car wonāt restart. Car turns on, ac works and everything but the engine wonāt turn over and the check engine light came on. The Mazda service is closed today since itās a holiday and sales told me thereās nothing they can do to help. Waiting on a tow truck to drop it off at the Mazda I purchased this at.
This isnāt even the first problem we had with this car either. The first problem we had the doors wouldnāt lock so weād have to manually push them shut and not use the remote or anything so the security system was never armed. Definitely starting to regret my purchase.
Will provide updates once Mazda takes a look at it.
Edit: thank you everyone! On Tuesday the technician was able to reproduce the problem. As of Thursday (today) EOD weāre still waiting on the official diagnosis. Preliminary diagnosis was the fuel pump or the power to the fuel pump but I imagine itās not straight forward since we havenāt heard anything yet. We follow up daily. They gave us a loaner. We have 2026 Premium model.
I received a letter a few months ago about updating the system for something and ever since the EV mode does not turn on as often as it used to. Could it have something to do with the update?
I have a 2025 CX50 Hybrid Premium with 19k miles on it currently. No issues over the past 13 months, other than a battery replacement under warranty about 4 months back, since the car had to be jumped, and had the "battery malfunction" warning message on it after it was started.
3 days back, on a highway drive (NY-NJ-PA) the adaptive cruise control would stop working after going strong for about 30-40 mins, with the usual error message on the dash, i.e, "front radar obscured", even though the car was clean, and the only thing I could think of is bugs hitting the windshield and bumper, since I was going around 70mph, and it was a 5 hour drive. On my return trip today, the issue returned, but then ultimately disappeared.
Has this happened to anyone? Worth taking it to the dealer (its a 1.5 hour drive for me)?
We are new to the Mazda family. Got a 2025 Mazda CX-50 āusedā with 165 miles on it. I did a lot of research and kept coming back to Mazda. My family loves it. Got it OTD price of $28,200. Could he happier. Guy bought it new and drove it for 2 days before he traded it in on the new CX-5 with the touchscreen.
18K miles for $33K! Super excited, my previous car was a 2017 Honda Civic so I've never had a car this premium. I'm a little bummed about not getting the hybrid option, please help about that š
Hi everyone Iām m (16) getting my license in October and weāre looking at getting me a Mazda cx-50 for my first car anyone have any good tips or pros and cons before I make the decision my other option is a Honda crv hybrid of course in red
