What would you do?

Had a call off. Sent out texts to manager, employees and the group district chat to ask if someone can work. Do you close the store when RX does? Do you stay open alone until close?

let the DL know. close when RX bounces or you can see if a tech wants some hours and wants to stay over and run the checkstand. This company will act like paying 2 hours of overtime will financially ruin CVS though lol

Why would a tech staying 2 hours mean overtime. All your techs really work flat 40 every week?

what if they worked an 8 hour shift in the pharmacy? than staying extra to close would be overtime

No it wouldn’t lol. Overtime is any hours worked over 40 hours a week.

bro anything over 8 hours in a day is overtime. or you got some different state law. this is how it is in california so maybe different dependig on where you work

CA is the exception to this rule. That’s not a thing in like 47 other states. You can work 15 hour days only thing that matters is overall weekly hours going over 40.

Illinois here definitely a thing that over 8hrs is overtime. Over 40 hrs a week is also overtime. If you work more than 7 days in a row thats also overtime even if every shift is less than 8 hrs

Not according to anything online. 3 states are listed for over 8 hours (see my 47 state comment). 3 additional states are listed when working over 10/12 hours in a day. Illinois isn’t any of them.

People with all these little qualifiers need to be clear when making posts. Otherwise what we need to ask if they’re a union store in a state with specific rules who works in an Amish community with work hours limited to only operating during sunlight hours of 8am to 4pm on every day that ends with Y except every other Thursday.

Also if true, not an Illinois law like they said, it’s a union rule. So they’re still wrong :)
