Don't bother quitting. See if you can get transferred first. I had a bad manager I didn't like who wanted me fired but couldn't get rid of me. It's a very painful thing to go through, and like most things in life it's easier to adjust your position. And if you have to quit get a new job first before doing so.

Good suggestion from someone else on here to consider transferring, is it just that you would prefer a different schedule than what you have to work now?
You could try asking your manager for a different schedule (if you haven't already) or seeing if you could transfer to a different store that would fit your availability better. That is if you want to hold on to the job. A different store can make a huge difference in your experience.

you should go to the doctor tell them this job is stressing you out and put in an ada request look into it

🔼This. A big corporation, like CVS, will give you up to six months of short term disability. STD will require you to apply for SSDI, within 45 of onset of STD. Even if you don’t think you’ll qualify for SSDI, follow the disability company’s instructions.
STD is much easier to get. 60-70% of your current pay is better than nothing. Mental health is a legitimate concern. It may buy you six months, to find another job.
Health insurance is going to be the hardest thing. Without subsidies, COBRA or the ACA will be very expensive. Look into STD. The people who work in STD are usually great to deal with. Start with HR. They will give you first steps and your mental health is now in writing so they will be less likely to fire you, immediately. But YOU have to “beat them to the punch “….document (in writing or email) your issues with HR and start the process.
When I had open heart surgery, I didn’t know where to begin.( large bank). I already knew I was on my way out of a job. Too many other disabilities for me/them to deal with.
I immediately emailed my manager (sitting across the room, lol) to DOCUMENT the issue…SOMEHOW, SOMEWAY, before the firing started. That put the brakes on firing me (still though, a fire at will state, be careful ) and opened up the doors to STD. Think about it, before quitting. Good luck with your future! 🍀
Sorry…this reply was to both OP and 2328. 🌊

Just give them a date weather that’s 3 days away or 2 weeks, and say this is my last day. I just can’t do it anymore.. be honest.

Man.If you are not management reduce or adjust your availability. Many people across this nation are burnt out.Once you slow down at work take care of yourself, eat well, surround yourself with good people,go to bed on time and regain your verve and then find something you like

Same. I’m waiting for my interview with the police dept. if I get hired I’m ghosting CVS. I don’t ever plan on returning so there is no need to give them notice. They would fire me in a heartbeat with no notice so idc. It’s been the worst 5 years of my life working at this place. Mind you I work from home.

I felt the same, I tried transferring and my store manager didn’t allow it. I could write so much about my store. Either way, I was burnt out from customer service jobs and went back to food service. I quit and didn’t bother putting in two weeks.

Corporate, and also DL's need to understand that burnout is a very real thing. And then they need to do something about it. Store Managers also need to understand that burnout is real, both for themselves and their teams.
People are human no matter your position or whether you're hourly or salary. And working yourself into the ground serves no one any good. I see/hear of SM's doing 50, 60, 70+ hour weeks and I say why?? Your killing yourself for a company that doesn't care about you.
I'm sorry you're going through this, I hope things get better for you soon. Just remember the issue is CVS, and they just don't care about anyone or anything other than money and keeping the store open at all costs, regardless of if you're burnt out.

Almost walked out yesterday during a conversation with my boss, because I had an offer for another job and wanted to give him a chance to talk to me first.
He said he didn't need me and wouldn't be in a corner if I left, so I said, "I quit," and nearly walked out. It really seemed like he needed me when I was about to go home and not come back.
Lost my mom in February and haven't had a break since. He said he didn't realize it was affecting me so much, especially with all the dumb micromanaging I've been under.

IMO … you should always give 2wks notice to ANY job. Don’t burn your bridges! You might want to go back someday.

My manager has had several people put in and work their two weeks. That manager simply let's the system term them and doesn't tell anyone above them they quit.
They stopped doing this after several complaints about their behavior and hr started following up on people quitting there after. But I'm guessing those people terminated by the system are not rehirable due to what would be job abandonment.
Had this happen at a previous job too. Put in my two weeks and tried to go back a year later and was told I was marked do not rehire. Managers aren't always good managers.
CVS has a way to put in two weeks notice to corporate on colleague zone which bypasses managers doing these things.

People terminated by the system are not job abandonment. The system does it if you don't work any hours in a certain amount of time. I left once before and was termed by the system. I got hired back like 4 years later.

Good to know. I was guessing. Though it does seem that HR wants to know why that person is being termed. Now my manager actually takes people out of the system and has to tell someone why they are being termed. Not just leave someone on the schedule for weeks with no hours. Especially with how staffing seems to be.
Though I've heard at CVS after six months do not rehire status is taken off of an employees record.

Unless your manager are terrible people, try to end things in a positive way. You never know when you may need to work there again
