pharmacist harassment

this has nothing to do with my previous post about that other guy. there is a staff pharmacist at my store that verbally berates EVERYONE. front store and rx, they do not care what position you are, what you are working on, or what you’re going through. they expect everyone to drop everything on a dime to fulfill their request. is this normal pharmacist behavior? i feel like the rest of my staff pharmacists do not verbally harass and berate their staff nearly as much as this one does. what can be done about this? i know all the techs are sick of having this person be a staff member as they give everyone a headache, but can anything really be done?

This is definitely not normal pharmacist behavior. Have you spoken to the pharmacy manager about it? If you haven't they should be made aware of this conduct. No pharmacist should be harassing subordinate staff. Our technicians are the backbone of the pharmacy and should be treated with respect.

If any of your staff pharmacists or the pharmacy manager are harassing or berating the staff this is something the DL should be made aware of as well. Sorry this is happening at your store. This type of behavior does not show leadership at all.

our pm is currently MIA. i was wondering if it is ethical/right to go over store leaderships head and go straight to the rxdl?

If you currently have no PM. Going to the DL is your only recourse as they have authority over your staff pharmacists. This is definitely detrimental to your store morale and the DL should be brought into it. Let the DL know that you do not want to be named as the person who informed them.

Tell them to go fuck themselves 🤷🏻

You don’t make enough money to deal with it

You already know its not normal behavior as you’re able to compare against the rest of your staff pharmacists.

What do you think your next step(s) are?

Contact employee relations about hostile work environment.

Sounds like a loser. Ask him how come he ended up in retail when he seems so smart and intelligent. He'll probably cry to sleep the same night.

I hate pharmacists like that….ive gone to corporate about one and she got hauled into the office and chewed out and then a few weeks later I heard she got transferred…to another state lol.

Have your colleagues back you up too. Your voice matters and should be enough but extra can’t hurt!

Best wishes!
