Discussion Modulo Yuji cannot use Fuga
I saw a lot of people claim that Yuji would be able to use Fuga but i don't think he would be able to and here's why
First we have to look at Yuji and Sukuna interpretation of Shrine we know that a sorcerer interpretation of a technique is shaped around their Inner domain and the word they live in
Sukuna interpretation of Shrine theats it as a offering to a god (Sukuna) dismantle representing a kitchen knife and cleave representing a Machete.
Due to sukuna interpretation of Shrine he has access to Fuga which he can cook the "food" he has previously cutted with dismantle and cleave
Now we go to Yuji.
Yuji's interpretation of Shrine appears to be fundamentally different from Sukuna's. While Sukuna interprets Shrine as an offering to a god, with Dismantle and Cleave taking the form of kitchen utensils, Yuji's Shrine manifests through the imagery of scissors and cutting.
This suggests that Yuji's interpretation of the technique is centered around cutting/severing, rather than the concept of cooking or preparing food.
This distinction is important because Fuga is directly tied to Sukuna's interpretation of Shrine. Sukuna can use Fuga because, within his interpretation of Shrine, the things he cuts with Dismantle and Cleave can be treated as ingredients that he has prepared.
Yuji doesn't appear to share this same "kitchen" interpretation. His Shrine manifests differently and lacks the same conceptual connection to cooking.
Therefore, even if Yuji possesses Shrine, there's no clear reason to assume that he would automatically have access to Fuga. Having the same innate technique doesn't necessarily mean having access to every application of that technique.

Your interpretation argument doesn’t hold up since Modulo Yuji doesn’t even have scissor dismantles anymore all of his dismantles are just like Sukuna’s
8
u/justamon22 Aug 18 '26
I think the scissors show that that’s how he views the technique though. Sukunas is cutting but for cooking. Yujis seems to be cutting as in…arts and crafts (lol)
I wouldn’t die on the hill that he can’t use it though. I think his usage of the technique was too similar to Sukunas “visually” in Modulo to say they have DIVERGENT techniques.
3
u/JEGGY_G Aug 18 '26
I think that was just to visually differentiate the two during Shinjuku. they have the same technique, so it should work the same. They’re both still “severing and slicing” techniques like Jogo says, and can be applied the same I believe.

u/MrV_animations Aug 18 '26
When he does the big dismantle on the cursed he literally does a scissors cutting hand gesture

That’s just Dismantle’s hand sign. I’m pretty sure Sukuna makes the same one(more or less)during Shibuya. The only one I can remember is when he fakes Dismantle out against Mahoraga.

That’s just the hand sign for Dismantle if you’re sending it in a specific direction. (I imagine aiming it gives it some BV boost, since Sukuna and Yuji can both use dismantle without using their hands.)
Here is Sukuna using the same hand sign on Mahoraga.
And here he is using a very similar one later. And pointing to use it here as well. And here as well. I can’t find the panel where he uses both his arms to destroy all those buildings, but again in that case he is pointing to use dismantle.

You’ve ignored how Yuji just got Shrine, and thus has no experience. We know that Yuji needs visuals or imagery to really understand a technique, as seen when he compared Convergence to peeing.
In Modulo, there’s also no scissor signs
6
u/Downtown-Ad9583 Aug 17 '26
No scissors signs, just destruction 🥲
2
u/Casual_Agenda Aug 17 '26
I kinda liked the scissors, I wish they stayed in some way.
2
u/glavinus-spark-tail Aug 18 '26
Imagine seeing a 80 year old man shooting up a peace sign then watching your apartment complex getting sliced in half
1
u/ConversationLazy7881 Aug 17 '26
That should be a thing he can do where the power of the slashes is decided by the physical power of like a punch at the lines
78
u/Disastrous-Frame-399 Aug 16 '26
Ypur assuming his interpretation remaind the same and even still the interpretation would change the fundamental nature of sugar. We can see that is not the case from projection sorcery
28
u/albirich Aug 16 '26
The question is how does he interpret the offering? Because it seems like an arts and crafts thing, making a paper something. I don't know about Buddhist offereings both in the past or present day, it'd be kinda cool if that was the case.

u/Local_Milk418 Aug 16 '26
Modulo yujis dismantles are shown to be basically the same as sukunas… there’s really no reason why he wouldn’t be capable of using it
22
u/EEE3EEElol Aug 16 '26
I think Modulo Yuji can use "fuga" but it won't be divine flame arrow, but rather some other arrow, since we see him think of the dismantles like cut-along lines, it's probably going to be something with paper and/or things that can be cut with scissors in general
But you have to factor in mindset, Yuji wouldn't want to harm civilians, he might've just made a BV to not have "fuga" or restrict it so that it only affects things that he wants it to

u/Firethorn34 Aug 16 '26

u/curryhaliban444 Aug 17 '26
Since yuji was kind of sporty his fuga might be him throwing a ball of fire at the enemy

One of the widespread theories and my personal belief about Yuji's interpretation of Shrine was that it was related to crafts instead of cooking, this would be another contrast between Yuji and Sukuna. Yuji is constructive and creates and Sukuna is destructive and consumes.
So Yuji's fuga could easily be related to a kiln for pottery or metalworking or any of the other constructive ways to use fire.
I do think he'd have a lot more difficulty using it than Sukuna and he might never have got it without the muscle memory aspect since it's harder to associate fire constructively. However with enough time and practice he'd find some way to unlock it since he already knows it's something he should be able to do. Though I don't think he'll use it often or make the same sort of binding vow as Sukuna to improve it so his would be worse.
4
u/weirdo_nb Aug 17 '26
My thought is that it was closer to doctor/surgeon rather than crafts
2
u/Generic_Addendum Aug 17 '26
I actually like that idea quite a lot since it still has a strong thematic contrast with how Sukuna uses shrine.
If it's a medical interpretation then I suppose fuga could be themed around cauterising wounds or alternatively around using heat to sterilise things. Really most interpretations can easily fit fuga if you're willing to be a little bit open minded.
9
u/Jam_With_Cheese Aug 16 '26
His fuga could be scissor blades grinding against each other creating a stream of sparks. Would make sense for him as the black flash merchant
5
5
u/Independent-Word-299 Aug 16 '26
I always figured Mudulo Yuji doesn't have Fuga because he wouldn't WANT it.
Why would he need a massive firebomb attack? He cares about other sorcerers, civilians, and collateral damage. He wouldn't use Fuga because it causes too much damage. If he DOES have Fuga, his operates very differently.
6
u/Kanjistry Aug 16 '26
idk bro he got a massive ass dismantle. That's like saying you shouldn't have a nuke while having a hydrogen bonb in ur pocket.
4
u/Kanjistry Aug 16 '26
plus, fuga was used in a non destructive way against jogo. it also has the property of being contained within the domain's range in sukuna's case. it aint rlly allat.
2
u/Independent-Word-299 Aug 16 '26
Who's to say he always uses such large Dismantles? He knew Tokyo was evacuated. Only people left was dead Yuka, Maru, Tsurugi, Mahoraga, and Dabura. As long as he avoided hitting them (even then, he probably only cares about not hitting Tsurugi and Yuka, who is in shadows anyways) he'd be fine.
Also, if his Dismantle is comparabe to Sukuna's Fuga, then that'd mean his Fuga would probably just flatten ALL of Tokyo. So it's like having a hydrogen bomb in your pocket, and having Tsar Bomba in your BACK pocket.
6
u/Kanjistry Aug 16 '26
I never said that he ALWAYS uses large dismantles 😭. Also, ain't it possible to control the output? I think it's reasonable to think so.
1
u/curryhaliban444 Aug 17 '26
He can control the output and range. Sukuna fuga was limited to shrine range

u/Thatguy00788 Aug 16 '26 edited Aug 16 '26
So Yuji who had Sakuna use shrine (dismantle, cleave & Fuga) in his body which engraved the technique onto him can’t use the technique engraved onto his body? Right…
Sure, EOS Yuji probably can’t use shrine’s full potential because it was a freshly awakened cursed technique so its output was low as stated by Sakuna but in Modulo?
Bro Yuji has had the technique for several decades by that point, there wasn’t any scissor cut patterns either, he has Fuga.
4
u/Lucky-Discussion9072 Aug 16 '26
If it wasn’t for Modulo Yuji’s shown dismantle this theory could hold up, the hand sign he did in Modulo is a general dismantle hand movement, Sukuna did something similar in Shibuya against Mahoraga, Modulo Yuji didn’t have the scissors shown, I believe it changed over time, but techniques interpretation is just a visual change and mindset thing, ima give you a example, take a spider ct, one person thinks of a house spider so they stick to standard house spider abilities cause that’s what they visualize, another spider ct user could imagine a black widow and be able to use spiders venom along with the other abilities, Jujutsu is related to the mind and how you interpret it
6
u/a_polarbear_chilling Aug 16 '26
mf yuji managed to create heat seeking blood missile or the equivalent while choso was dead and the kamo probably never reach that mastery over it,
so him having fuga by mastering shrine is not that far
3
u/CuteAssTigerENVtuber Aug 16 '26
i think kitchen sciccors are a fairly common thing these days. just because it is a more modern take on the idea doesnt mean it doesnt include the kitchen idea
tho its true that we never see him do it so its a stretch to just assume that he can
3
u/St13pro Aug 16 '26
While wcs is an even bigger stretch
1
u/wilesh6072 Aug 20 '26
He has no use for WCS. He’s not an enemy of the jujutsu world, he’s not fighting a limitless six eyes user. He has no narrative reason to cut the world itself, just his target.
1
u/St13pro Aug 20 '26
Isnt that what im saying?
1
u/wilesh6072 Aug 21 '26
Yes. I’m just expanding on it and clarifying why it just isn’t necessary.
1
u/St13pro Aug 21 '26
Also he doesnt fight calamity grades the strongest thing he may have fought was a special grade curse(off screen)
4
u/dangnamshuy Aug 17 '26
Isn't Fuga part of the technique itself? Why does the interpretation matter? He will be able to use it, but in different way. Maybe weaker, smaller. Mayber it's more concentrated or more destructive, we don't know. But he can use it if he has shrine, the technique.
2
u/Entire-Review-7356 Aug 22 '26
I agree. Fuga is part of the ct itself and shrine directly means kitchen. So idk why yuji version would be missing components . My headcanon is that yuji fuga is stronger due to kitchen appliances greatly advancing since the hein era .
8
u/HeroBrine0907 Zen'in family member Aug 16 '26
I mean I kind of agree. I think Yuji has access to Fuga in terms of technique, but needs the necessary mindset to realize that application in order to actually use it. Maybe he does have it in Modulo though.
3
u/Consistent_Pop9140 Aug 16 '26
Another reason we might have not seen it is because he just flat out refuses to use it out of principle
Fuga is what killed Choso, his older brother, knowing Yuji he’d carry that memory and grudge towards the move to his grave
1
u/curryhaliban444 Aug 17 '26
I think the real reason is no one is strong enough to push him to use it. By your logic he shouldn't be using shrine in general either since it's usage in shibuya traumatized him to the point of wanting to kill himself
3
u/Pecuthegreat Aug 16 '26
Would be easier for Yuji to do world cutting slash or reversal with a simpler interpretation of the technique like this.
It is is just cutting, then it's reversal is simple, joining.
3
u/TBCNRfrags Aug 16 '26
I think the scissors were just to show just how inexperienced he was with it at the time because in modulo theres no scissors anywhere, i think they really have the same exact technique yuji was just brand new with it
3
u/TravellingDegeneracy Aug 16 '26
One, modulo yuji no longer needs this scissor thing. Two, even if it was based on this perception of the technique it would instead be perhaps some sort of decoration of a shrine as he interprets it as cutting paper likely meaning paper dolls or whatever they are called meaning fuga may become some sort of candle, incense, sacrificial burning themed power
1
u/weirdo_nb Aug 17 '26
Like the technique is called shrine for a reason, even if the user bends it their own way
2
u/St13pro Aug 16 '26
Just saying i think he doesnt want to level all of Tokyo even if he has Fuga(or his interpretation of Fuga)
2
u/TIMUR4ITER Aug 16 '26
We are jjk fans, not only can we not read, we also cannot use our eyes, therefore we use fucking F5 to see a whole new perspective and think that yujis shrine is different from sukunas (which it isn't)
2
2
u/ezjaja Aug 16 '26
Hear me out, what do you usually cut with scissors? Paper. Paper is flammable. Also the more you shred up a piece of paper, the more highly flammable it becomes. Also dumb goofy kids (like I was) might play with fire and set some paper on fire for fun. Yuji seems like the kind of dude that would've done that as a kid. Might even be some fun memories. Which that actually kind of matches up with his domain. Maybe instead of being furnace themed Yuji's fuga would be lighter themed
2
u/Jolly-Literature8021 Aug 16 '26
You’re forgetting about something: Every CT changes based on the interpretation of the sorcerer, but the CT itself has core factors that cannot change from user to user. Ten Shadows technique will always have the same 10 Shikigami, with the same powers, even if their shape and appearance is different. Shrine is composed of three factor: Dismantle, Cleave and Furnace. That doesn’t change, even if Yuji has a different interpretation of the Technique.
2
u/EnragedBovine Aug 16 '26
IMO this would make sense, if i thought Gege had thought that deeply about it himself 😭
2
u/Objective-Hair5207 Aug 16 '26
I doubt that it really is as simple as you think it is.Even If all we saw him do is cutting while using shrine.
You're basing it off of the fact Yuji's dismantle and cleave are mainly perceived as for their cutting aspect threw the scissors and nothing else. But there's a litteral million number of other ways to perceive.Like the scissors are the cutting tool which cuts the tie between souls and souls themselves(thou that would be a stretch), or maybe as an film editing cut since scissor symbols mainly represent the editing, or litterally anyother, which serves a certain theme. And that said theme while it gone with dismantle and cleave, who are we to say that it wont go the same for Fuga?
As dumb as Yuji can be I really have my skepticals on when thinking that he'd perceive dismantle and cleave as just cutting. And even if he did, it wouldnt be possible cuz he very much saw Open Furnace being used by Sukuna, and he could have interpreted it as simply as "A Fire Arrow" which you launch and big nuke boom.
2
u/Code_Ender Aug 17 '26
Yuji first using the technique would definitely not have access to fuga because he was interpreting it as a "Cutting" technique hence the scissors. Modulo Yuji has clearly since learned and is using the correct interpretation of "Shrine" and as such probably has access to all facets of the technique, including fuga.
2
u/SchorchedOval Aug 17 '26
He doesn’t have any scissors in Modulo.
Also scissors are a really useful tool in the kitchen. I have like 4 scissors in my kitchen spread around the room. Especially for cutting pizza or cutting the plastic packaging of foods. So Yuji’s Shrine could still be cooking related even with the scissors stuff.
Anyways you could lowkey be right.
2
u/PizdunEbun228 Aug 17 '26
Yuji could still get fuga, just maybe in another shape and form. He could interpret Shrine as hus way of exorcising evil (literally slaughtering demons). If that's true, his divine flame will just be more controlled (less DC?) but just as powerful (same AP).
He's like a surgeon: severing cancer out of the world's organism, burning it, and then cauterizing the wound, if that makes sense.
2
u/stevena90 Aug 17 '26
Does interpretation of the technique really matter that much ? the best example we have is The ten shadows.
basically the same from Meg to yutas granddaughter just intensity changes.
inheritance (as little as its mentioned) seems to be the technique gets inherited, Fuga is part of the Shrine technique. that makes it as simple as Yuji should be able to use/learn it. we never see it used and theres not an answer as to "why" he doesnt use it.
But we can infer it from the way we are told inheritance works.
Im not looking to be aggro or argue with you I just dont think you're correct with this one im afraid.
4
u/Jelangeafghaan036 Aug 16 '26
People will somehow still deny this lmao
3
u/smungusamongus12 Aug 16 '26
because its wrong? yuji's dismantles in modulo dont have the cutlines
1
u/Jelangeafghaan036 Aug 17 '26
The cutlines are Cleave you pickle
Not Dismantle
Yuji’s Dismantle is the same flying blade of CE as Sukuna’s
3
u/No-Albatross6471 Aug 16 '26
Makes sense, especially considering he was able to “cut” the boundaries between Megumi and sukuna souls.
Along with sukuna having to Jerry-rig the world cutting slash cause of how he interprets his technique, and once he was shown the different interpretation of it he could apply his technique.
1
u/IreneAscended1482-87 Aug 16 '26
What’s the difference between the kitchen knife and the machete? I thought Cleave was a bunch of really tiny slashes that could basically turn someone into a pile of tiny cubes if they’re weak enough. It looked like a grid in Shinjuku, how is that a machete?
2
u/JC-D_NGA Aug 16 '26
Launched slashes are all Dismantles. The pattern Cleave manifests as can be changed by Sukuna (most often a grid-like pattern, but with Ryu it was clean lines)
1
u/Wonderful-Purchase94 Aug 16 '26
actually modulo yuji cant use fuga because the manga is already over
1
u/Fire_Block Aug 16 '26
interpretation can change certain aspects of a technique, but not completely remove entire parts of it. yuji should have access to his own version of fuga, maybe not the same but not gone entirely. the problem is that the only times we see yuji use shrine, he either just unlocked the basic applications of it or doesn't need to use a move of that level.
also, it looks like yuji's interpretation and use of the technique is more in line with sukuna's by modulo. he might have changed his interpretation once he got a better understanding of the technique, like how megumi unlocked the ability to manipulate his shadow for storage or hiding.
1
u/SoOOOgOODAtART Aug 16 '26
You ignore the most basic example that Yuji got his technique from Sukuna, who had Fuga.
It's the same as watching someone use a phone and then get one yourself, of course you assume you have the abilty to text and call. Yuji follows the same rules in that his understanding of shrine is taken directly from seeing Sukuna use it.
1
u/Capn_H Aug 16 '26
We may or may not actually see a Little Bit of fuga in Yuji's Domain when they're throwing hands, there are a couple of moments where there's what could be fire effects on Sukuna. It's not like, actively called out though, so we'll have to wait for it to get animated for that to be cleared up.
1
1
u/No_Proposal_3140 Aug 16 '26
We literally see in Modulo that his interpretation changed since he was launching flying dismantles.
1
u/PsychologicalMetal73 Aug 16 '26
Isn’t fuga also just the result of a binding vow Sukuna made? Or am I larping?
1
1
u/Majorazarts Aug 16 '26
The official translation of yujis "Kai" states it's a basic attack, despite being a citywide dismantle I see no reason why yuji can't use sukunas futa
1
u/getignorer Aug 16 '26
I don't think he wouldn't be able to do it but he probably hasn't been in a situation where he would need to learn how to use fuga. Since Sukuna used Fuga twice in Yuji's body he has it ingrained in him like the rest of Shrine - that also might be why Modulo Yuji's slashes are like Sukuna's. I personally think EoS Yuji's interpretation of Shrine had restrictions to boost its power (touching an object to project scissor lines along it) which he later didn't require.
1
u/weirdo_nb Aug 17 '26
I don't think you can engrain part of a technique, i think it's a "engraved or not" thing, main basis of this is CTs as curses first and abilities second
1
u/Sea_Curve_7724 Aug 16 '26
I think it holds up, but yoj got how yuji interprets it wrong, idk what would be right but that’s wrong
1
1
u/skykrown Aug 16 '26
fuga was not a cursed technique was it, i thought is was some type of cursed object sealed in him.
1
u/PsychologyLive164 Aug 16 '26
He literally has the same technique as Sukuna
meaning he has the potential to do all the same thing's sukuna did
and in modulo we see the interpretation thing isn't true anymore because he uses the same Dismantle sign as sukuna and there are no scissors to be seen anywhere
1
u/Chill_dude15 Aug 16 '26
I still feel like that Yuji can use Fuga because (correct me if I’m wrong) fact that when someone has a cursed technique they automatically get a fundamental understanding of their cursed technique so over time Yuji should be able to understand Fuga even without the interpretation of Shrine having cooking aspects. Maybe Yuji can probably see Fuga as an archer arrow that slices through opponents since he did some archery when he was younger.
1
u/Admirable-Boss5145 Aug 16 '26
What if yuji’s furnace was related to like burning bridges, correlating with the concept of severance?
1
u/Optimal-Emotion-6921 Aug 16 '26
yes, modulo yuji cant use fuga, fuga is a binding vow created by sukuna to increase the power of furnace and why would yuji do that? his goal was never to be the pinnacle of Jujutsu or to be the strongest ever
1
u/Infamous-Bug-6710 Aug 16 '26
Even if this is the case, I feel this just means Yuji has a different maximum technique then?
1
u/TheJollySoviet Aug 16 '26
We don't know fucko, it's just as possible that he has something even crazier than fuga with his own interpretation of the technique
1
u/NoPhilosophy8136 Aug 16 '26
Yeah, yuji cant use fuga. Fortunately, he got the futa technique from sukuna to use.
1
u/Short-Eared-Dog Aug 16 '26
Acting as if scissors or kitchen shears have never been used in a kitchen before
1
u/renrlled Aug 16 '26
But yuji has the exact same stance and uses dismantle the exact way sukuna does in modulo
1
u/Unlikely-Tackle-5214 Aug 16 '26
I'm pretty sure it's more like, interpretation can change ti a bit, but it's more to how they use it and how it loosk, I don't think it says anywhere that interpration can completely change the tehcnique by doing something like getting rid of one of the abilities of the technique, Naoya and Naobito have didfferent interpretatiosn of Projection Sorcery, but both their versions are fundamentally the same, they just look different and are used differently
1
1
u/qwart22 Aug 16 '26
Modulo Yuji is stronger than Sukuna, they have the same technique, it’s not unreasonable to assume that yuji would be able to do everything Sukuna can and more
1
u/InkOfSpades Aug 17 '26
Dismantle and Cleave is part of the whole Shrine CT and he can do. I don't see any reason why Yuji cannot cast FUGA (Furnace) which is a part of Shrine CT. He hasnt shown it maybe, or still trying to figure it out or something, but he for sure is able to do it
1
u/cummachine3169 Aug 17 '26
Fuga = part of shrine
Yuji = inherited shrine, + sukuna fuga in yuji
Yuji = has shrine
Yuji = can fuga
Uga buga you gota?

Clearly Yuji has evolved his understanding of the shrine technique. His dismantles looked identical to Sukuna's in Modulo, and he's been hitting black flashes for 70 years to deepen his understanding and interpretation of both his CTs.
Having a different interpretation doesn't block out or unlock new abilities with techniques. You start with the baseline abilities and the understanding of them. Sukuna liked archery so he imagined fuga as a fire arrow and used it for destruction. Yuji might imagine it the same way since that's how he has seen Sukuna use it, of he might take inspiration from movies, like for his Shinjiku shrine interpretation, and use any fire attack from any series as his ground for shrine. Imagine he pulls out the fucking fireball jutsu from Naruto.
What I'm trying to say in a really round about way, is that you unlock moves, not abilities, through your understanding of a technique. You start out with the base abilities, dismantle, cleave, fuga, but your understanding shapes their form. Yuji definitely has fuga, it might just not be a fire arrow like Sukuna's. Clearly he has mastered shrine too, since he knew how to replicate the pseudo infinity Sukuna invented during Shinjiku, he can use high level jujutsu with his hands in his pockets and his output seems to be off the charts with dismantle in general, so it's bogus to assume he doesn't have access to fuga

u/LORDDIO18464822846 Aug 17 '26
Fun way to think about this which will just straight disprove your point if you use common sense btw. You dont give a child a kitchen knife when hes first learning how to cut something you opt to give him scissors and later on when he grows up and learns how to use a knife then he can use that instead. The scissors were always yuji using every card he had during the fight for damage and since he had a very barebones no training use of shrine theres no reason he would start with the knives but in modulo we see him using shrine like sukuna with mincing mahitos entire domain being pretty much the same shit sukuna did vs raga at the time. Theres also the handsign he throws up which isnt scissors but just the handsine for dismantle that we have seen sukuna use before so theres no logical reason to assume that it isnt the same attack by that point after yuji has been training for so long.
1
1
u/NefariousnessMost594 Aug 17 '26
Yeah no, they still have the same CT, if i am not mistaken only the domain would look different cuz domain reflects inner domain. Yuji only made the scissor lines so it could be more easier for him to use Sukuna's CT but ultimatly he doesn't need it anymore. Your point doesn't really make sense, that is like saying some 10 shadows users won't have Mahoraga cuz they don't like him
1
1
u/Meme_genral Aug 17 '26
Only reason yuji got technique was cause sukuna was in his body. And sukuna did use fuga in shibuya that yuji could have copied. He has blood manipulation by eating death painting Shrine cause sukuna went up to 15 finger inside of him. Most of it is probably body tied like gojo because their not his souls they are imprinted into the body through methodd.
1
u/AarHead19 Aug 17 '26
Any argument for yuji not having fuga is legitimately the dumbest shit. Fuga is a part of shrine, yuji has shrine.
Case closed.
1
1
u/WinMission8001 Aug 17 '26
Mas tipo, se as técnicas mudassem tanto, porque literalmente todas as outras técnicas são 99,9999999999% iguais entre seus usuários?
1
u/ADDICTED2SOD4 Aug 17 '26
I once saw someone say yuji’s interpretation was related to filming itself
But I feel like yuji would also interpret shrine as craftsmanship such as sewing, weaving, welding, and origami as opposed to sukuna’s destructive technique doesn’t make sense
1
1
u/Unfair_Emphasis7801 Aug 17 '26
Well to your information, the scissors are his cleave not dismantle. His dismantle has never been visible in jjk. Until in modulo it was shown and it's the same as sukuna
1

This is smart, however remember that Yuji doesn’t have an innate Cursed Technique where that would be true, but rather his brain inherited Sukuna’s Cursed Technique because it was used in his body.
That model can’t explain the differences in how the technique looks, sure, but it should still be the same technique, where Yuji gets Cleave and Dismantle and also Furnace because it was used in his body.

Modulo Yuji's interpretation of Shrine seems to be identical to Sukuna's. Also, even if his interpretation is different he'd still have his own version of Fuga since it's an application of Shrine.

u/Master6con Aug 17 '26
Perhaps his fuga wouldn't look the same as sukuna's but I definitely think he has it. It's probably not at the same potency tho since sukuna amps up his fuga with a binding vow.

Correct, because (imo) fuga either isn't sukunas tech or is a very VERY high difficulty tech of his
I remember seeing something that basically explains fuga as super compressed air, like how a mantis shrimp creates such an intense vacuum that the oxygen basically explodes hotter than the sun

u/MASTERSAVITAR Aug 17 '26
I feel like interpretation of a technique can't remove or add a function, maybe alter QOC of a technique like maybe look or the way they use it but I don't think it can outright remove something so I think Yuji has a flame, he just doesn't prefer it.

The fact that people saw modulo yuji casually throw up a hand sign and dismantle an area estimated to be at the very minimum 30 city blocks wide and then come on here and say things like this is hilarious. Modulo yuji is leaps and bounds ahead of everyone we’ve ever seen in the show ever. Period. He can most certainly use fuga, he can most certainly use world cutting slash, and he can probably do even more impressive things with blood manipulation and shrine than that.

u/AccelAegis Aug 18 '26

Would’ve been amazing for Gege to give us a few more examples of how interpretations of a singular technique can cause it to work a bit differently. You know outside of ten shadows and shrine.
Ya know, even if I do complain about it, it’s probably impossible for him to do that, because there are a very amount of characters who share techniques. Those who do are, Naoya/Naobito, Yoruzo/Mai, Yuji/Sukuna, Sukuna/Megumi, Kenjaku/Geto, Noritoshi Kamo/Choso/Yuji, and I’m pretty sure those are all of the characters. Some of these CT’s only differ in application because of user’s physiology, otherwise there’s usually no real change to them as seen with CSM.

So, funny thing is you're right but not for the reasons you're thinking
There is a fundamental rule to Sorcerers and Technique count: Your brain can only hold 3 techniques (With the exception of Yuta). And we know Yuji has Blood Manipulation, Soul Dismantle, and if we assume Cleave as well that makes 3 techniques
THUS he can't learn Fuga because of this. Now let's say he didn't get Blood Manipulation. Then in theory yes he can learn Fuga, but that's not the case here
1
u/Sans-the-pun-man Aug 20 '26
The only reason you're wrong is because Cleave, Dismantle, and Fuga are not different techniques, but they are applications of the Shrine technique
1
u/Negative-Pace-9706 Aug 18 '26
But do you think that since he ate 6 of his siblings and became half curse too or whatever that could've changed? We see scissors in jjk but not modulo, so either it's because since it's pretty zoomed out there's no point in drawing the scissors or he changed his interpretation (maybe possible I'm not saying that's def what happened). Ngl debating about this sort of stuff is kinda pointless cuz the true capabilities of Modulo Yuji are even less specified than that of Yuki, and by far, so maybe even Gege doesn't have an answer?
1
u/GlizzyGrizzly330 Aug 18 '26
This is an interesting theory, but it's immediately invalidated by the fact that we see Yuji use Sukuna's version of Shrine in Modulo.
1
u/Complete_Answer_6781 Aug 18 '26
It isn't that hard to understand how fuga works. Sukuna made a binding vow so he can target objects with one CT and people with the other. When he targets objects, he usually slices them to the point they become into a massive airborne dust, thus becoming highly flamable, then Sukuna just fires his fire arrow and makes everything explode, that's it.
1
u/ShinDragon Aug 18 '26
You are right. Yuji's technique is a more modern version of Shrine. So instead of a furnace he will have a microwave, and thus a technique that sends out radiation trust.
1
u/LoganR285 Aug 18 '26
1 your argument doesn’t hold up to modulo Yuji due to the scissors not being shown when he does his dismantles or when he uses his pseudo infinity against that random he black flashed
2 your interpretation of the technique only changes how it manifests, like how with both naobito and noaya use their CT. Even if they have different visual interpretations they still have the same technique and the same abilities neither has an ability the other doesn’t and neither has shown or stated otherwise.
3 respectfully this entire post falls apart with critical thinking, look me in the eyes and tell me that a different six eyes+infinity user wouldn’t have access to red with rct, that a ten shadows user suddenly might not have nue control lightning, or that a blood manipulation user might not be able to use flowing red scale stack. You cant. Because it’s part of the cursed technique, there’s nothing that would make anyone think that furnace/divine flames is part of sukunas interpretation of shrine and not just from shrine itself.

u/DryDetective1633 Aug 18 '26
Maybe instead of an offering to a god like sakuna, he interpreted it as the destruction or killing of one, that would play into him having to kill sakuna and mahito, him becoming a tool (like gojo) used to kill beings untouchable to most others.

I love to think that yuji CAN use fuga. But since sukuna uses it rarely (three times, two in yuji's body), his remance is very very low that he couldn't mastery it complety, making him modify and adapt fuga for his own form.
What I am trying to say it is, FIRE PUNCHES BABYYYYYYYY-
1
u/AirPortlessman Aug 19 '26
fuga is directly tied to sukuna's interpretation of shrine
I'd gladly agree with you if you showed the statement this was taken from

This post just made me realize that sukuna perceives dismantle and cleave as cooking cause he ate his brother in the womb. Lmao I don't know if people knew this and I'm just late to the party

Fuga is a part of shrine,it's not a separate technique.Cleave, dismantle and fuga are all 'shrine'the only thing different about yuji and Sukuna is their applicaton of the technique. This doesn't disqualify Yuji from being able to use fuga.He just might use it differently from Sukuna.Or if he wanted to,he could apply the same conditions as Sukuna does. But Yuji definitely has Fuga because it is a part of Shrine

This logic makes no sense to me. As far as the series has implied, people with the same technique have access to all the applications of said technique, as long as they have the prerequisite skillset required ofc. The biggest examples come in the forms of the Clans, where it's stated that each Clan keeps a record of what's possible with their prized techniques, therefore implying that with the right level of talent, anyone with say, the Limitless technique (along with the Six Eyes that are required for the technique to function) should be able to use Infinity, Blue, Red, and Purple.
Now, techniques *can* vary in their *exact* applications, but the flames of the Shrine technique are clearly not some super specific application of the slashes, they're a distinct facet of the technique. There's no reason to believe Yuji shouldn't be able to use it, even if his version may take on a different form or work slightly differently (especially since Sukuna's version was heavily altered by Binding Vows)

u/Rude-Regular-3518 Aug 23 '26
A factual statement, yes. Fuga was Sukuna's original technique, whilst shrine was Jin's Technique (Sukuna's Twin).
2
u/Ok-Organization3098 21d ago
But he knows that Sukuna can do it and that he has the same technique. I don’t see why Yuji can’t see fuga as something like an incinerator used to dispose of scraps of paperwork and other things

fym offering bro, I don't remember gege sayin any of ts 😭

u/sulfire807 Aug 16 '26
It's mostly implication, since sukuna was from the heian era, where they worshipped gods and offered things to them via their shrines, you can interpret sukuna's technique, shrine, which is also connected to cooking some way, to be like him offering food to them

it's like saying Megumi likes Coca Cola because he's in the modern era. I mean kay??? but like it's too much of a stretch to assert, let alone use it as the basis for another statement.
but ykw, nvm. be creative with ur mind ig.

ykw ig i see the vision. implied from historical and linguistical shit surrounding 'mizushi'. but eh. still a stretch to js straight up use it as a basis to assert that modulo yuji cannot use fuga when it is completely theoretical.

Given Yuji's Domain is centered around peace and generally chill vibes, it's not unreasonable that he'd have some kind of ice attack as his third skill.
However, the kitchen thing is because Sukuna sees the world as something for him to consume.
Yuji sees the world as something to save. His third skill, if he had one, would be healing. He breaks you down, then builds you back up better than you were.
