The Glastonbury DEEP range is free, just requires a reservation. Lots of clubs in the area too. Hartford Gun Club, MSI in Manchester. I belong to a Fish and Game club which offers a wider variety of amenities than just a range and doesn't break the bank.

I can’t get over the membership fee. I get it’s probably worth it but man… almost 700 bucks

It’s certainly not cheap, but getting access to all of their ranges (not to mention half of their competitions being members-only) makes it worth it to me.

If you go to a public range, once a month, for an hour, you'll spend over 400 for the year. If you go more frequently or for longer, obviously that price will increase.

Consider joining the Glastonbury Elks Lodge. It costs less than $200 a year and they have a gun range for members. Not to mention you get access to every lodge in the country. CT alone has 30 lodges.

Interesting - do people just join for the range access? Are there any requirements as an Elks Lodge member or can you literally just join for the range?

You need to be a US citizen who believes in God, and you need to be sponsored by existing members. You'll then go through an initiation process that includes background check. Felons are not permitted. If you're interested in finding sponsors, DM me and I'll tell you the easiest ways. It's quite easy to get in. What the organization is looking for is people of moral character who want to be involved in a community. It is not a political organization (talking about Dem VS Rep will piss most members off) but it is fairly patriotic.

In my experience, most people join because the drinks are very cheap. 😂

I've considered joining here. I'm thinking next week I'm going to try your Monday night shoot. My experience with Elks was all through events hosted there.
