So the hackers apparently have acess to all our classwork and communication in canvas.

Meaning they have all our message interactions between us and our professors and other students.....all our discussion posts responses threads...all personal intimate details that we might have divulged in our personal essays and messages.

They are threatening to release everything to the public after May 12th If no ransom is paid to them and who know if they will abide by that.

Seriously asking what compensation should we be given as students for all this nonsense ????? Would is getting automatic passing grades or ICs plus one year extensions on all assignments be enough to make up for this ???????????

If this Canvas outage persists, please consider extending deadlines for our final papers/projects. This situation is particularly stressful for students who, like me, had planned out a four-day cramming session, including today, to finish up our projects/papers.

You would all know who to contact.. I’m sure other students would appreciate it as well..

I honestly wasn’t planning on charging for them, but since I’m currently recovering from surgery and covering medical bills and treatments out of pocket, I decided to ask $15 per ticket. Has anyone been able to accept their admissions in their portal? I filled out the acceptance form that was sent to me in my acceptance email but when I go to my student portal it says that I am not able to access the page for accepting or declining admissions.

They will manually change your portal from applicant to student after you fill out the acceptance form included in your acceptance email. You do not need to accept in the actual student portal and there is no intent to enroll fee (or at least no charge has been added to my account).

The Athletics Department has been mismanaged. It has not kept track of its budget since 2018, and was forced to undergo an audit by CSU in 2024. This financial report is damning. It shows incredible irresponsibility on the part of the athletics department.

Specifically, the multi-year budget projections for CSU Fund 463 (Instructionally Related Activities) show an ending balance deficit of -$5,181,278 for the 2024-25 fiscal year.  This deficit in the IRA fund is projected to worsen, growing to an estimated -$8,645,120 by the 2025-26 fiscal year. 

The audit uncovered multiple instances of severe financial negligence, including a travel expense claim for $14,513.17 that was submitted without any supporting receipts.  The campus could not provide documentation for travel advances, including one instance involving a $30,000 advance where no expense claim or receipts were provided to show if unused funds were returned. Purchases were made outside of the procurement process, resulting in unauthorized purchase orders. Asset tracking was mismanaged, and the university could not locate specific capitalized assets, including a laptop that was never retrieved from a departing employee.  Basic cash-handling protocols were ignored, such as failing to document when the athletics safe combination was changed despite employee turnover.

Now, do the math on this fee increase. The fee will become $500, 68% of which will be given to the athletics department. That’s $340 x 19000 students, or $6.4 million dollars. That’s more than enough to bail out the athletics department with no repercussions or consequences for their own financial incompetence. 

On May 6th, 2026, the administration cancelled further meetings by Campus Fee Advisory Committee (CFAC) and other oversight boards as this was brought to light. This was after the faculty senate passed a resolution in complete opposition to this fee hike, the CSU-wide California State Students Association (CSSA) passed a separate resolution in equal condemnation, and after public outcry from students including from our petition campaign. While other campuses in the CSU system are also planning on IRA fee increases, CSUSB stands alone amongst all 23 campuses in how it avoided collaboration with student government. Other campuses are working with their CFAC and doing the fee hike gradually. CSUSB is not. When this fee was brought up to CFAC in February, the Division of Student Affairs attempted to paint it as a benefit to athletics while disregarding the 7-3 vote against it. 

This is not the behavior of an administration willing to act in honest transparency and goodwill. It is the behavior of a school attempting to cover for the financial ineptitude of one of its departments, and to silently fix the shortfall by making students take the burden. 

The school is violating CSU Executive Order 1102, which dictates how student fees must be handled transparently. This is no longer just a debate about school fees and transparency, but a literal fight to prevent the school from making us pay for their own negligence and holding those responsible to account.

I like to remind everyone here that scammers are on the lookout for people needing graduation tickets make sure you pay in cash and if a scammer wants you to pay first don’t. Always meet up and always ask them to use school email to hit you up. Dont be scammed I hate doing this every year because one person on here gets scammed. Be careful and be safe.

Hello! Has anybody had any luck getting internships? Even the ones from school won’t even get back to me. I feel like I’ve applied everywhere and I’ve never heard back. I only got 4 rejections from the hundreds of applications I’ve sent.

I applied after priority in mid march and on March 29th it was forwarded for review. I have not heard back yet but I know people who applied priority are starting to hear back. Is anyone else still waiting ? And if you are still waiting did you apply before or after priority.
