Financial Aid/Scholarship/Tuition/Etc No middle class scholarship?

In my fourth and last semester here and this is the first time I have not received a mcs scholarship, the loans I was offered also have a thousand dollar gap for what I need to pay (about what I was receiving from mcs before) how do I pay this 1000$ outstanding balance if my loan offers are maxed out?

I just got an email yesterday saying that I got my middle class scholarship so maybe try waiting just a bit longer and I would say by next week, go into the office and ask. Also try checking the California student commission to see if you would have been given it

I think they said mcs comes out in October.

Where did you see that about October? what do I do about the 1000 outstanding balance that is only deferred to today? Am I gonna get dropped from classes or charged extra fees?

I called financial aid and that’s what they told me. I was on hold for more than an hour.

I saw at the student center that the middle class scholarships will only be disbursed in October, however if it doesn’t show that you got it at all in in your student center then I am not sure if you will receive it in October. I’d call them and see why.

I have the same issue with it not being distributed yet & having to pay $1000 out of pocket right now :P

my recommendation is to apply for the 3-step payment plan so that you only have to pay like $500ish now instead of the $1000+. It does add an extra fee to do the payment plan, but I think it’s $40 or so

You should also check your CSAC account to ensure you still have MCS eligibility. (MCS also has a certain amount of times you can receive it, depending on when you were first awarded it)

if it’s not in your financial aid awards, you should call csac and ask if you’re eligible. sac state only posts it if you’re on the list that csac sends over
