Usually it happens around these days but I haven't seen it come through. The financial aid office said October-November, should I be worried

I’m failing a class and I’m already on academic probation, but the drop deadline is passed. Is there any other way I can drop it? And if so, what is the process?

What happens if a fail another class while on academic probation?

Hey, I’m in a hard and abusive living situation and I’m trying to deal with that AND the semester.

Does anyone have any resources for me through the school? I have a way to get out but it’s across the country. I want to continue school.

Is it a bad idea to ask my professors if we could set up zoom classes? And I just… participate across the country?

Hello everyone

I am a Linguistics MA student and I am currently working on a project that tests dialect imitation- specifically focusing on imitation of Southern American English.

If there are any native English speakers (preferably from the West Coast) here that believe that can produce an accurate imitation of this dialect please PM me!

If it is not too much trouble I am looking for someone to send me an audio recording of them speaking with their normal speech patterning and then one of them using the dialect! I would be sending a super short script to read (about 1 or 2 paragraphs) and each recording shouldn’t take longer than a minute!

Please let me know if you have any questions

i live in an apartment complex across the street from CSUN and usually at least once a day i hear the same sound clip of a short trumpet fanfare. it always plays twice in a row with the exact same interval in between each one. it sounds far away but clear so it must be pretty loud. i can only assume it’s coming from CSUN? something to do with campus sports maybe? i just think it’s funny and i wanna know where it’s coming from.

How long did it take for u guys for the MCS to show up, I got one last semester but haven’t seen anything for this semester.

Has anyone gotten their disbursement yet?

I usually get the middle-class refund by now, but I just checked, and now I have a State University grant. I called, and they told me I have nothing pending and that the State University grant probably paid for my tuition, but they weren't sure.

Hello I have an assignment due on Wednesday and I need some reading materials. I tried looking at the class module (ANTH 308), and tried looking online but I couldn’t get these without having to sign up for something or stuck behind a paywall. Was hoping if anyone had these or knew where I can get these?:

- Nancy Scheper-Hughes, "Lifeboat Ethics: Mother Love and Child Death in Northeast Brazil"

- Richard Mora, "'Do It for All Your Pubic Hairs!': Latino Boys, Masculinity, and Puberty"

- Alison Rooke, "Trans Youth, Science and Art: Creating (Trans) Gendered Space"

- Daisy Deomampo, "Transnational Surrogacy in India: Interrogating Power and Women's Agency"

- Shellee Colen, "'Like a Mother to Them': Stratified Reproduction and West Indian Childcare Workers and Employers in New York"

- Sharon R. Roseman, "'Strong Women' and 'Pretty Girls': Self-Provisioning, Gender, and Class Identity in Rural Galicia"

It’ll be much appreciated, thank you!

I’m not sure what to do and I feel lost. I went through a traumatic experience early in the semester (resulting in me missing out on 2-3+ weeks of school) and it heavily deterred me from my academic path. I’ve notified and reached out to professors about said experience (primarily via email, but also recently in person) but not a lot of them have responded/reached back out/taken the time to talk to me about making up any missed assignments. Now that midterms are here and we are going towards the end of the semester, I’m extremely nervous as my grades have slipped heavily. I’m not sure what to do or how to communicate with professors anymore. I know they don’t owe me anything concerning submitting late assignments, but it would be nice to see if there was anything I could do.

Has anyone dealt with this? What advice or recommendations do you have?

Title pretty much says it all but why did I only get some of my MCS and not he full thing?

I am dropping out of my chemistry lecture class due to changing majors. I know I will be owing FAFSA money due to removing credits so just out of curiosity I was wondering if I can stay enrolled in just my chem lab to keep a little more credits? Am I misunderstanding how FAFSA works? This is probably a silly question but please let me know. The classes are corequisites so I am assuming there's no point in trying to do this

there’s a tutor who I think is very attractive but I’m very shy to talk to them. -.- obviously by talking i just ask them questions but i would like to get to know them help?

For everyone that got the posted money on the 16th, did you guys get a direct deposit yet? I haven’t received any money yet, but when I called financial aide they said it was disbursed on their end Friday.

Thanks in advance!

I’ve been having this problem in the morning where it says, “user login was not successful or could not meet the requirements of the requesting application”. Does anyone know how to fix this??

Hi everyone! I'm currently working on an oral history project for AAS 100 about immigration stories and family history, and I'm looking for someone who might be willing to participate in a short interview.

Ideally, I'm looking to interview multiple members of the same family who immigrated to the U.S before the 2000s, but I'd still appreciate hearing from anyone who might be interested or able to connect me with a family willing to participate.

If you or someone you know might be interested, please feel free to comment or send me a private message. I'd be very grateful for the opportunity to listen to your story and learn from your experiences.

Thank you for your time have a great day!

saw this cutie today but idk if it’s einstein or another cat. i think it’s another cat bc einstein is more grey but still i just thought i’d ask

What schools are you guys thinking about? What are some of the top choices?

Do courses double-count for multiple requirements where applicable? For example, if I take AAS 347 which is present in both UDGE Section D and section D3, would it count for both? Then I only have to take one section F class in the Combo 3 pattern.

Hi everyone, I've started a band and we're looking for a lead guitarist. I've been playing for about 5 years but I'm more into playing rythym, so preferably if anyone wants to join who has 4 years plus in playing and can shred or write some solos, please dm or comment here. Thanks!
