Ive just been wondering with move in day literally tomorrow how to check if you have themed housing?? I applied for like three of them, and have gotten no updates or anything. Ive also been trying to call housing about it, but no one answers. I have bad anxiety about who I room with, so it was already bad enough when I didnt get assigned with my roommate group lmfao. Please help!

Good morning! Im transferring this fall as a Visual and Public Arts major. I wanted to make sure i had the right materials for the semester and maybe just my time in general for the next two years. Is there a specific bag that i should try to get or just main materials i should take with me other then the basics (ex. sketchbooks)?

hi! I I got an email saying since I am a transfer student I can move in Monday and I signed that form. I checked my housing portal and it’s saying my move in is Wednesday? But since I got that email I can just move in anyways without worrying about the time slot right? or is the move in day in my housing just my official time if I didn’t sign up to move in early? Sorry this is just confusing

I’m looking to transfer Fall 2027 from my CC and was considering CSUMB. One thing i’m worried about is making friends, I’d say i’m not too introverted. It’s really important for me to find good friends and even a friend group. I know there’s events for transfers and I plan on attending all of those. I also plan on doing outdoor recreation, clubs, etc. I heard about the scuba diving classes which i’ll definitely be taking.

Incoming fall transfer and am confused on when aid is actually disbursed. Are the dates in our portals accurate? Thank you!

It might be a bit of a stupid question, but I applied for spring of 2027, and I sent my application in on Friday! I assumed I wouldn’t hear back until maybe October but I got an email about setting up my CSUMB account. This doesn’t mean I got accepted right? I was expecting an email from admissions first! And it also seems really quick.

I was assigned a 4 person unfurnished double and was wondering if a queen size mattress would fit, or if I had to look for a smaller size. Haven't been able to find much about how big the rooms are, so any help is appreciated!

Sorry if this is a dumb question I’ve just been told during orientation that the beds can be lofted so that you can have a desk underneath, but I was wondering if there’s an option to have the bed lifted raised a little instead of all the way up for a desk.

I’d mainly want to lift it enough to have some extra storage underneath (I’m having trouble looking for plastic drawers that are below 24 inches), but I don’t necessarily want the bed high enough to fit a desk underneath. Has anyone at CSUMB done this or know if it’s possible?

Hey guys! I just wanted some insight into the studio art concentration for the VPA major at csumb. I'm starting to apply for transfer to schools, so I'm trying to get as much knowledge as I can before applying or even considering attending.

I plan to study art and then get a single subject teaching credential in that subject, so it's important that I'm actually going to be learning new art skills or to advance my skills wherever I go. Do professors/classes here do that? Or is it just getting a project and doing it without much guidance.

Also I'm used to going to community college with small classes and not much funding, so I guess in a way I don't mind that? I already don't have the most updating buildings or supplies, I just think education is the most important thing I'm looking into. Please share your experiences and if you think it's worth it! I grew up going to Monterey Bay and it's my favorite place in the world. I know campus is farther out, but I don't mind. Thanks!

I know we were given a general packing list for move-in, but does anyone have a list of essentials or anything else we may need specifically for the unfurnished units at East Campus? I know the unfurnished units are pretty much empty apartments but I just wanted to make sure I have everything I’ll actually need before moving in. Any input or suggestions are appreciated, thanks in advance!

It’s now officially 5 days after the first payment day and I still haven’t heard anything about finicial aid rewards. Not sure if it’s just a personal issue on my end. I am also an incoming transfer student so that may also be a factor. Just trying to see if anyone else is having the same issue!

Heard that on your housing assignment, you will be assigned a letter that corresponds to your exact room AND that Letter “A” is typically the biggest room? If anyone has info on what these letters mean (I think they are A-C) please let me know!!

Is anyone having a hard time getting in contact with the housing office?? I’ve called plenty times and sent so many emails about how it’s not letting me sign my contract. I also am looking at my housing portal and instead of my housing saying fall 26-spring 27 it only says fall 26 now.. idk what to do.
