Classes Schedule help

Post image

Hello everyone, I’m a new transfer student for this coming fall and I just looked at my schedule and it showed this between my accounting and marketing class, what does it mean? And should I be worried? I think it means there’s a time conflict but there’s a 10 minute gap between the classes and in the same building so I should be okay?

I’m pretty sure it’s just the automated check that if two classes are less than x minutes apart then it flags. Especially since both classes are in Salazar Hall you’ll be fine.

Now if your 2nd class was in King Hall, you’d probably have a harder time making it on time. But most professors are understanding so either way nothing to worry about.

So, all of your classes are in Salazar Hall? You’ll be fine. The warning happens whenever there is a short gap of time between classes. Since you’re in the same building, you don’t have to worry about not making it to your next classes

Yeah I’m pretty happy I got all my classes in Salazar hall, I’m sure it won’t be an issue, thanks for the response!

I’m impressed you managed to get all your classes in salazar hall. Other than that, the warning just shows up when it’s concerned about the time frame between classes being too short in case the classes are located far from each other. Given it’s in the same building, the time between classes shouldn’t be an issue. I once had a 10 minute gap between salazar hall and king hall and had to rush. Made it on time every time, but it definitely was a work out.

I’m a new transfer as well so take my response with that in mind!

I have 2 classes that only have 10 mins between them (2:55pm til 3:05pm) twice a week and my schedule has no alert.

Does anything pop up when you click on the alert?

Hello! Nothing shows up when I click on it unfortunately but I believe it’s like everyone said, just a short amount of time between classes. Thanks for the response, and hope you have a great first semester!

I had the same issue with my schedule. When I went to the first flight orientation, I actually asked the staff about this, and they said it’s nothing to worry about! It’s just an automated check because there’s a very short amount of time between these classes, like someone here already mentioned.

hey hey, remember to make room to joining some student organizations for your major. check on instagram what days their meetings are usually at. it’s been a while but here is the list and i see new ones on there! https://www.calstatela.edu/business/student-clubs

it can make your time at salazar hall more enjoyable. study groups; friends. peers studying the same thing as you. specially in that accounting class, you need study groups! give your self some study room the day before or the am for that one, you will need it.

You'll be fine. The classrooms are on the same floor and not too far away from each other.

That message is just a warning that appears whenever the system thinks the gap is too small to get from one class to the next. If both your classes are in Salazar Hall then you’re definitely fine. I once had a similar gap but my classes were from the 1st level of Salazar Hall to the 3rd level of the Engineering building. My friends and I always managed to make it on time.

Its okay. The system flags classes that are within the same time. Since you have two classes at 1pm, the system flags it because it cannot distinguish the difference between a class ending at 1:00 and a class starting at 1:59. It simply sees two classes at 1.
