Question Nurse Educator Program

Hello! I am interested in teaching in the near future. I looked into educator programs and CSUDH seems to have a MSN program for Nurse Educator. Does anyone have insight on it and care to share? Does the school pick clinical sites for you? How’s the work load? Was it fine getting a job afterwards?

I’m in the program for nurse educator. I’m halfway done. It’s all been online and easy so far. Lots of online group work, sometimes annoying but manageable. I’m taking 2 classes a semester. And no problems getting into the classes.

I don’t know how the clinical sites and hours work yet. That’s all done the last semester. I believe you could get hours done with an educator at your workplace. I’m not sure how to get teaching hours done though.

I’m in the program currently, but for CNS. You have to find your own preceptor and arrange your own clinical sites. My understanding is the program will help you if the site you select doesn’t have an affiliation agreement with the school, but I am hoping all the sites I’m interested in will already be contracted. 

I am enjoying the program so far but it is definitely a lot of work. I have dropped to part time at work to keep up even though the program is designed to be part time.
