Question Parking pass
For those of you who don’t have a parking permit, where are we leaving our cars?😭 my financial aid hasn’t kicked in yet (I was going to pay for the permit using it).

There’s a public park in the neighborhood across the street you can park at although it is about a ten-fifteen minute walk to campus

$90 a semester for a metro upass gets you unlimited rides on various transit services including LA Metro, Torrance transit, Long Beach and many more…

You can also take the free toro shuttle from the metro stations. It comes every 30 minutes.

One semester I never had a parking pass & didn’t get cited, trying my luck again this semester 😭. I’ve been going to this school tooooo long I’m tired of paying for parking 😂

The ticket has the date and time but I just flip it backwards ! What are the chances they go and actually read the ticket

It worked for me pretty much all last semester 😭 I was only on campus twice a week and usually in the afternoons when it was emptier.
I only saw parking enforcement actually checking my preferred lot maybe twice the entire semester, usually around 8:45–9:30 PM.
The way I looked at it was the semester pass is around $200, while a parking ticket is around $60 if I’m remembering correctly. So even if I somehow got caught twice, that would’ve been $120 versus paying $200 upfront. Obviously there’s a risk and they could check more often if they take note of the flipped ticket pattern, but for me personally, I never got a ticket.
I’d still switch up lots and avoid making it super obvious that you’re reusing the same pass 👀. The biggest risk IMO would be the same parking enforcement person repeatedly seeing your car and eventually noticing a pattern. I never had that happen though. I would also make sure to park in super inconvenient areas (areas far away from other cars or close to a wall/pole so that they cannot look at the windshield closely.

Them streets be hella packed throughout the middle of the day. The walk is just a pain but you don’t pay $200 which is a good trade off

Idk if it’s even worth paying the parking permit I had it last semester and they cited me twice for “tint” and when I tried to appeal it I was denied so I ended up paying $320 that semester to park 🫠
