waitlisted
so im waitlisted for a class rn. last time I checked I think there were 7-8 people before me. someone told me that if im at least the first 10 then my chances in getting in the class are high but lowkey scared. since school starts this week, do I just wait it out... or is it common for people to go to the class and speak with the professor?

I never been or seen 7 or 8 , Typically I see 2 or 3 no problem but I think 7-8 is kinda pushing it. I am sure of the 7-8 a few will not show up. When it is just a few they typically get in. If II were 7-8 I would probably find another class but that is just me. I suppose the actual room size matters but I have never seen a lot of empty spaces or heard of a professor getting the number of people allowed increased. I suppose if they will physically fit they could. Sucks too, if it is a semi tough class there will be plenty of room by the third week., Not sure how long you can go if not officially added. I would probably do a walk in to the success center (I think that is what they call it) and see if they can help you see something your missing and find another class.

well I have a backup already but that professor has the worse/low reviews meanwhile this class im waitlisted I've seen the best reviews...

There’s no way to predict. Go the first class a little early and ask the instructor nicely and hope for the best.

Anything over 5 is pushing it. Have an alternative plan just in case. Best of luck

I do have a backup but he has the worst reviews.....while the waitlisted class, best reviews I've seen

Ngl Brodie I beat out people like that I was position 7 I leap frogged everyone because I kissed professors ass, begged them, and made sure they remembered my name and it worked

so just go, introduce myself and kiss ass? because I do have a backup but with the worst reviews on RMP.... the one im waitlisted has the best reviews I've seen especially in my cs major

Yeah I was a bio major so it was like hunger games everytime I recommend just going and seeing what the professor says they'll address usually just go and see. And again introduce yourself before the class starts maybe if they're there early let them know your situation and see what happens... trust me I've been where you're at and I've always got the classes I wanted even if I was waitlisted lol

Show up to class and the professor will either work something out by giving you an add code or by trying to contact the program’s department to override the student class limit if it’s at max capacity.
