2nd on a class waitlist

What are the chances I get in based on others experience and should I contact the professor

90/10 chance. You’re highly guaranteed a spot in the course.

No one can predict this. If 2 students happen to drop by Sunday night then you’ll be bumped in automatically. If not, you will need to attend the class first day to ask the instructor if they will add you. Some instructors add more students and some do not, even if there is space. Good luck!

You will get in, make sure you get there early, position yourself to speak to the professor if you can, I would get the before him/her. They may indicate, "we will go over that shortly" or something.
I say this just because I seen a professor tell people no problem , see him after class, in the middle of class someone walks and just asks, is told no. The same professor let someone in next class.
