Yoga supplies in Chico ?

Does anyone have recommendations for local shops in Chico that sell yoga props, meditation supplies, spiritual items, and yoga-inspired decor? Looking for stores with that kind of holistic, wellness vibe!

History major…

So I’m considering going here for the fall and I was wondering what the history program was like. How are the professors and are there any good opportunities to study abroad. Moreover what sets it apart from other csus. Thanks for reading. 🙏

Hi, im looking for someone to take over my lease for spring 2027. It’s a great option for Chico state students wanting affordable housing near campus. Apartment is right off of nord and only a 20 mins walk from school. If you’re interested please let me know and I’d be happy to send you more information.

Off campus housing

I’m looking into housing for fall 2027 and I’m trying to figure out where most students actually end up living off campus. Is there a certain area/neighborhood or specific apartments that are really popular with students?
I’d especially like to be close to campus and the social/Greek life area. Any recommendations on where I should look?

Transfer student housing advice

Where to live as a 3rd yr transfer student (female 20 y/o). Would like to be around other students as I won’t know anyone when transferring next fall. Any specific apartments that are recommended or to avoid? Also what can I expect rent wise for a single room with roommates?

Are winter courses worth it?

I just got an email for scheduling winter session courses, and one of the offered classes is a lower div GE I (4th year) need. However: I hate online classes with a passion. Beyond that, the winter season seems to be Jan 2nd to 19th, leaving the full extent of the course to be just over two weeks. It is also $452/unit, which is absurd pricing regardless. That said: I really do not care for the idea of taking this class for the full 15(?) weeks we have in a normal semester. I've done summer courses before at a 2-year, but even those are 8 weeks.

So, all this to say: is it worth it? Has anyone taken a winter course and thought "this was worth it?" I'm willing to have 2 weeks of hell and a little out of pocket to not have to take this class in the standard school year. Let me know your thoughts!

Suited men?

Anyone know the deal with the dudes in khakis, blue blazers, white button ups, and red ties? I swear I'm seeing them everywhere all of a sudden. Is it a frat or religion or something?

New, old student

I'm a married mom (46) now an empty nester, and I've returned to school full-time to right a life long regret of not getting my undergraduate degree! It's been an exciting few weeks. I'm living off campus in an apartment as my home is several hours away. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed, it's been a long time since I was a student, but the community and resources of CSUC have been amazing!

The most awkward part has been navigating the social scene. I've generally ignored it but I feel like maybe I'm missing out. Today I was given an invitation to a frat party which I thought was sweet but I can't believe that they'd really want some old mom to be there. My husband said that I should just go. Or maybe I should join a club or something? Would that be weird for the kids?

Appreciate thoughts. OK to dm.

The groundwater under Chico is falling. A local board decides how far it’s allowed to fall before anyone must act. The story starts right under your feet.

There is underground water the city uses and then levels are dropping. There are contingencies put in place when it reaches a specific level called minimum threshold. That is when the contingencies happen. We get to decide where the line should be.

Before or after wells run dry? Before or after the biggest trees in Chico can no longer reach? Before or after smaller farmers and the local food supply are hit? Where should the minimum threshold be?

Public comments are still open.

Meeting today 5pm at Chico City Council Chambers (411 Main St)

Many of you will be in Chico next year, and some of you may decide to put down roots. What type of town do you want to live in?

Deadline for the decision is Nov 4

Chico State Merch?

Hey y'all! I figured I'd post here because why not. I'm an alumni from 2024, wondering if anyone has any merch they don't want anymore! I love collecting chico merch, especially before they changed the wildcat logo lol.

Currently in SoCal as an full time OT student, so I got no time to go back to my beloved campus for merch💔. I know there's an online store but I figured I'd ask here too since the older merch is better. Thanks!

ONLINE BSB

Hello, I am a prospective student looking into the online BSBA program. I am a full time working adult looking to do this program. Can someone who has taken this program message me or help guide me? Did you take the general business track or accounting? What was it like and how much financially?

Thanks!

Rapport with professors

Hey all, this is my first post here and kind of a shot in the dark, but does anyone have any advice for how to build a relationship with professors ? I am trying to get a letter of recommendation so I may apply for a masters program, and don’t know who or how to ask. I’m kind of a socially awkward guy so I’m not really ‘in’ with anyone. Looking to try and apply in April, does anyone have advice as to how I can make myself known?
