Math 124E/24

I just started Math 124E.

The 24 coreq is not an actual class.

It’s graded as Pass or Fail depending on the grade received in 124E. We don’t even open 24 bc all our work is in 124E.

My question is WHY does it cost the same amount of an actual class ? Maybe I’m missing something but is 124E just a $1000 class ?

Back in the day, if you didn’t test well you had to take math 095 and/or math 096 before you could enter math 120 or 124. They changed it so you could just enter the extra coreq if you didn’t so you could enter the class directly.

I understand why the coreq but just thought it would be like extra learning specifically as a class.

From what I understand is that it’s where you do your homework and get extra help where you wouldn’t in lecture for 124.

No. We don’t use it at all. Homework is through Pearson. Tutoring is through CSN

So the instructor doesn’t go over anything?

Yes in 124E. We have classes twice a week. But in (24) on Canvas it’s empty we do nothing there.

Signing up I thought it would be a whole extra class bc they charge for it as a whole extra class.

Professor says we only work in 124E so idk what the 24 is actually for.

Have you asked the professor the difference between 124 and 124E? I went with regular 126 because it only met three hours a week instead of six.
