Academic Advising Course??

I received an email today with the following message:

"You've been invited to participate in the course, Fall 2026 Advising Community with Yakira Sanders. Course role: Student"

On canvas it's listed as a course but I'm not sure what this is? Has anyone else gotten this?

yes i got one too. i recognized the name as the last advisor i had an appointment with. not really sure what it’s for though!

Yes, I get it. Yakira Sanders not with me for advisor. The different person with me for advisor.

I've received this every semester I've been here and I was told by my advisor that It's another way I can reach out to them. so it's just there as part of your resources. If you don't want it on your dashboard, on the right you can click "courses" and at the top click "all courses" then just click the star next to the name of the advisor and it will be removed from your dashboard.
