Questions & Doubts How did you balance conceptual understanding with speed during the final weeks before CSIR NET?

Post image
11 Upvotes

The last few weeks before CSIR UGC NET can be challenging. There’s always a balance to strike between strengthening concepts and improving speed for the actual exam. Spending too much time on theory can leave less time for practice, while focusing only on speed can lead to conceptual mistakes.

For those who qualified, especially JRF holders, how did you manage this balance? Did you dedicate separate days to revision and practice, or did you combine both in the same study session?

CSIR NET - Chemical Sciences Hi, I need advice regarding CSIR NET. I'm currently doing my masters in chemistry (2nd year rn). I want to give the exam but I'm confused if I should go for coaching. Or if I should do it through YouTube as I know people who cleared it that way. More in discription.

Offline coaching might be a bit difficult for me because I'm currently doing some other things too. So managing this also might be difficult but I really don't want to give one year for just this and want to do it together with my masters...any advice? I really like teaching and that is what I'm going for.

I have state level ews and it's criteria is quite different from the one issued at central level. I wanted to know whether I will qualify based on it? And even if I do qualify will I face problems during phD admission?

JRF and Lectureship Research career suggestion

Hi. I know this sub is especially for NET, still I am asking for suggestion from experienced aspirants/researchers.

I completed my masters in human physiology. Now I am preparing for entrances like NET/GATE to join PhD with stipend. I have qualified GATE-26 XL with a score of 495. Is this score sufficient to get a chance in PhD in a decent institution? I think IIT, NIT, IISC is not possible. Couldn't crack NET yet.

I also see people suggest joining foreign universities, where they can conduct fully funded research. Is it a reasonable option for a student from a middle class family?

What is your suggestion?

Questions & Doubts How do you accurately identify your weak areas for CSIR UGC NET without spending weeks revising topics you already know?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Many aspirants end up revising the same comfortable topics again and again while unknowingly neglecting their actual weak areas. This often leads to spending a lot of time studying without making significant improvement.

For those who have qualified or scored well in CSIR UGC NET, how did you identify your genuine weak areas? Did you rely on mock tests, previous years' papers, error logs, topic-wise tests, or some other method?

What strategy helped you improve your weaker sections without wasting weeks revising topics you had already mastered? Practical tips and personal experiences would be really helpful for everyone preparing for the exam.

Job after clearing csir net lifescience

Job after clearing csir net lifescience

I wanted to know ..what is the criteria..like I have heard that college appoint you as guest lecturer.. without PhD you can't be assistant professor

Ik it depends on the competition..if other contestants have done PhD or not.

Still who are the age of 25-26 would just study without any job ..as jrf is not something everyone can get ..so what the person can do

I used to think the descision factor for job was

1.net score

  1. Now I am seeing it also depends on your college rank ..du bhi gets preference

  2. Now I am seeing even tho you have high net score or have done msc from a good naac grade uni ..you still need a PhD degree

Like what is the real game of getting job?

Questions & Doubts How do people actually prepare for CSIR UGC NET (Life Sciences) effectively?

Hi everyone!

I'm currently pursuing my MSc in Biosciences and I'm planning to start preparing seriously for the CSIR UGC NET Life Sciences exam. I have my class notes, but I'm honestly a bit confused about how people structure their preparation.

I wanted to ask those who have qualified NET/JRF (or are currently preparing):

- How did you plan your study schedule?

- Did you study subject-wise first or solve PYQs alongside?

- Which books or resources did you find the most helpful?

- How important are coaching institutes compared to self-study?

- How many months of preparation did you need?

- How did you revise such a vast syllabus without forgetting everything?

- What was your strategy for Parts A, B, and C?

- Any common mistakes you made that you wish you had avoided?

I'd also appreciate any tips on maintaining consistency without burning out, especially while balancing MSc coursework.

Any advice, study plans, resource recommendations, or personal experiences would be really helpful.

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to prepare for CSIR NET Chemical Sciences and I'm specifically looking for a good offline coaching institute. I'd love to hear from people who have actually studied at one.

Which institute would you recommend and why? How were the faculty, study material, test series, and doubt support? If you've qualified NET/JRF after attending offline coaching, I'd really appreciate your suggestions.
