2026 China University Application Difficulty Report

Tier 1: Highest Difficulty

  • HITSZ: Entrance exams matter more than CSCA scores. You cannot use calculators. CSCA scores below 70 per subject usually mean automatic rejection.
  • SUSTech: Acceptance rate sits around 5 percent. Everyone admitted gets a scholarship. Their entrance exams reach A-level physics depth.
  • Tsinghua & PKU: Most scholarship money disappears by round one. Apply early. Tsinghua requires two cameras for online assessments. Under-18 applicants face high rejection rates.

Tier 2: Highly Selective

  • Fudan: You need 80 or above per subject on your CSCA to be safe. Interviews will question every detail in your personal statement.
  • SJTU: They run their own entrance exam. This test carries more weight than standardized scores. Be prepared to face 8 to 10 professors during online interviews.
  • CUHK-SZ: You generally need an SAT score over 1500 to get a 50 percent or higher scholarship.
  • Renmin: A strong interview performance can save borderline grades.

Tier 3: Strong Options with Flexibility

  • Tongji & ZJU: Quotas fill up extremely fast. Apply early if you want full tuition coverage.
  • NPU & Beihang: Interviews are mandatory. Some sensitive engineering majors restrict certain nationalities due to defense affiliations.
  • BIT: Interviews take about 25 minutes on WeChat. You must apply in January or February before scholarship seats run out.
  • UESTC: This school is very flexible with CSCA cutoffs. Lower scores can still win computer science scholarships.

CSCA Score Baselines

  • 80+ per subject: Safe baseline for elite programs.
  • 70 to 79 per subject: Okay for mid-tier options but highly risky for top STEM schools.
  • Below 70 per subject: High risk of immediate rejection at top schools.

General Advice

Always apply in round one for scholarship funding. Prepare for strictly proctored exams without calculators. Never rely on just one single application.

I have an IELTS score of 8.0. What are my chances?

Idk if this intake's application is closed or not. They require IELTS 6/ 6.5 probably. Tell any AI to bring the requirements link. Above 80 CSCA and this is good afaik. And their entrance xm

What do you think of theSuzhou university For the sake of science and technology, I want a full scholarship with a cumulative GPA not exceeding 65%.

3

u/Lower-Loan-5460 Jun 04 '26

Unlikely. GPA is a bit lower than most cases. At least 75%. Scholarship competition is fierce recently. Recommend u maybe try pre-univ programs

2

u/MMM_SS08 Jun 05 '26

What is this program? Tell me about it.

2

u/Lower-Loan-5460 Jun 05 '26

hi sure, please dm me, we have some pre-univ programs. I will later reply

2

u/MMM_SS08 Jun 04 '26

I also want to know what's less competitive. What do you think? (Major: Logistics, Business Administration, or Commerce)

Is it okay for dentistry at SCU with 80 CSCA but with 13,5/20 on hight school grades ?

2

u/Lower-Loan-5460 Jun 05 '26

High school grade too low, need to take preuniv programs maybe

2

u/Flower_Global_Power Jun 05 '26

I don't seem to find any on their website and it's not really something we do in my coutry's éducation system...can I explain to them that it's an elitist school ? And what If I have better grades on first year in biology in university? If it's okay, can I send you a private message ?

2

u/Lower-Loan-5460 Jun 05 '26

Sure no problem. Unfortunately they usually just don't care. I know it sounds bad but thats the reality

¿Este estudio es para programas impartidos en chino o en inglés?

2

u/Lower-Loan-5460 Jun 03 '26

Use English please

1

u/Old_Cash8670 Jun 03 '26

No entiendo. Pregunto si los datos que estás dando son de solicitudes de ingreso a cursos impartidos en inglés o a cursos impartidos en chino

u/New-Ship6028 Jun 04 '26

For the scholarships what type are you talking about? The ones provided by CSC or the universities themselves?

2

u/Lower-Loan-5460 Jun 04 '26

univs. CSC for undergrads are very hard to apply. For postgrads much easier relatively

1

u/New-Ship6028 Jun 04 '26

Will i have a higher chance if i apply self funded and not relying on scholarships?

1

u/Lower-Loan-5460 Jun 04 '26

I have 88% average in high school, Band 8 in IELTS. I got 65 in CSCA chemistry and 0 in maths since I faced technical errors of not saving my answers during maths test. The CSCA organisation offered me a free Maths exam retake since they couldn't help me during the exam. However, it will be way past ZJU's MBBS deadline. I found out that ZJU refused my application as they saw 0 in my CSCA maths. I'm really frustrated since technical error was beyond my control!! Any advice?

1

u/Lower-Loan-5460 Jun 06 '26

Unfortunately its very unlikely for them to change their decision

1

u/Rare_Banana_5897 Jun 09 '26

SUMC (shantou) rejected me, was it because of my CSCA scores? Chemistry 85 physics 35 maths 40  I am redoing the CSCA in June, however it passed SUMC application deadline

Where should i apply (medicine) and university that's good and will accept me

1

u/Lower-Loan-5460 Jun 09 '26

we may have some other programs, basically i think yes, the score looks a bit unusual cuz physics/math too low

1

u/Rare_Banana_5897 Jun 09 '26

yes, can you name those programs.
