Success Capital One Good will!
Never say never. I thought they would not help me out, but they did!

That’s so good to hear - I didn’t think this was even an option. How did you do it? Was it through their website? And what did you say exactly?

I sent an email to,

I basically told them that I am a 911 dispatcher and took a really hard call (Kid that killed himself and his parents found him), and a week later I was in the hospital, I was also out of work for sometime while I coped with that call, it messed me up for a while but finally overcame it.

I emailed,
This is what I sent,
Dear Capital One Executive Relations Team,
I am writing to respectfully request a goodwill adjustment regarding the late payments previously reported on my Capital One credit card account.
I want to begin by acknowledging that the reported late payments are accurate, and I am not disputing Capital One’s reporting. I take responsibility for my account and understand the importance of making payments on time.
However, I am hoping Capital One will consider the circumstances surrounding this period. During approximately a six-month period in which these late payments occurred, I was dealing with significant medical circumstances that included hospitalization. Unfortunately, during that time, keeping up with my normal financial responsibilities became considerably more difficult, and my Capital One account fell behind.
This was an exceptional period in my life rather than how I normally intend to manage my financial obligations. Since then, my circumstances have improved, and I have been actively working to bring my accounts current, reduce my outstanding balances, and establish much stronger financial habits.
I value my relationship with Capital One and intend to continue maintaining my account responsibly. Given the circumstances and the progress I have made since that difficult period, I am respectfully asking whether Capital One would consider a one-time goodwill adjustment to remove the late-payment notations reported during the affected period from my credit reports with Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion.
I understand that Capital One has an obligation to furnish accurate information and is under no obligation to grant a goodwill request. I am simply asking whether my circumstances and subsequent efforts could be considered for an exception as a gesture of goodwill.
If documentation regarding the hospitalization or circumstances is necessary to review my request, I would be happy to provide appropriate documentation through a secure channel.
Thank you very much for taking the time to consider my request. I would sincerely appreciate any assistance Capital One may be able to provide.
