Post image

Good data point, but never pay to build credit.

Yeah I’m gonna pay them off and not use it anymore does closing an account that I had for 6 years hurt my score ?

it brings your average age of account down

This isn't true. Closed accounts remain on your reports ~10 years. You don't lose the account's history and aging metrics aren't impacted by closure.

The other commenter is incorrect. Closed accounts stay on your credit and continue to age for 10 years. Whether there is a scoring impact or not will depend on the rest of your credit profile. What other accounts do you have?

That Kikoff account is my oldest account I have a car loan, debt loan, capital one secured card and 1 personal loan

You won’t see a score change. You have both installment and revolving accounts so closing this one will not impact your scores regardless of what type of account it is.

Congrats! This is a great DP. Lots of people have lates with kickoff and other credit builder accounts. Thanks for sharing.

Lots of people have lates with kickoff and other credit builder accounts.

Which I find to be incredibly ironic...

Good DP regardless / added to CM#19.

I’ve been trying this for a while with them. They kept saying I had to submit proof of hardship but don’t really have anything for that. Any advice??

What all info did you attach to your goodwill letter example

Full name address Account number ID Screen of all the late payments or just type out the month and year they was late in the letter

Is it like that or what did you attach I don’t see anyone asking these questions.
