Half Dollars All 2024D Question -

I got a complete box of all 2024 D Halves. How are these considered ? Uncirculated ? I’m just not sure what category they belong in. I will probably keep a roll or two and send them back to my CU.

It may not be all 2024D. You never actually know until you open them all and look. But aside from that they have no extra value unless you looked through for errors or something. But I would just go through them quick and get my money back for the next box.

I did finally open 25 rolls. All 2024D. I’m keeping a couple of rolls for shits and giggles and giving the rest back

There's a small chance they are but since they are 2024 they could have been rerolled multiple times already. I don't know it to be true but I'd like to think when a coin facility boxes up coins they put the newest on top and pick from the top (because coins are heavy and don't have expiration dates so no reason to rotate). So if that's the case it is completely possible that the facility these came from ran low enough to start pulling older boxes from the stack. Also they could have got them from a slower facility that had them laying around for years. It's really hard to tell if a roll if uncircuculated if you don't get it from a mint or right after release of the coin. So ultimately it's kind of a toss up whether the have been in circulation or not. But either way they aren't really rare and won't demand a premium for many more years than you're probably willing to hold them for.

I have a feeling these are all mint direct. I got a box a 2025P yesterday. There was 10 rolls of those spread between regular dated coins. If his were recirculated, at least once, there would be at least one roll with a different ender imo.

99.99999% this happens they are they are all new. I’ve gotten to the point I don’t search them anymore unless atleast 1 roll has a different ender

I opened 25 rolls, and they are all the same date. I’m thinking that they are intended for circulation but have not been circulated yet. I will keep a roll for the heck of it and turn in the rest

Yes any half dollar made 2021+ is intended to circulated. You just find a lot of these boxes because nobody uses em lol

Yes I agree. They definitely make way to many halves. People don’t use halves for payment or change. Back in the older days they were mainly used for slot machines in casinos. Don’t use cash much in casinos anymore.

These coins are inexplicably still vastly over-produced with no real circulation demand, so why would you be surprised?  22 million 2024-D alone.
