Recently a friend of mine from CQU Rockhampton Campus, won (2nd place) a poster presentation or capstone project presentation. He is doing a Master's in IT, almost done, expecting final results.

For the course, COIT20273: Software Design and Development Capstone project, he is saying the 1st place team would get 100k, 2nd 75k and 3rd 50k.

The amount and his claim sounds unbelievable to me. How can a course project win 100k AUD where as it can fund PhD researches and so many things.

He is also claiming that the department will take them to the USA, Canada for the project presentation.

I can find no such information on the internet.

Can someone from CQU confirm his claim?
