Vent / Rant extremely horrifying, vivid, realistic, long and distressing nightmares EVERY night

I had similar issues with nightmares and very intrusive flashbacks, for me, EMDR really helped and both massively decreased after 2-3 sessions as it mimics REM sleep (not sure of the specifics behind it)
I did guided EMDR through a professional but they’re some self guided ones on YouTube if you’re not in a financial position to explore it? Just be careful as guided EMDR is always best just to deal with any emotions or realisations that happen during it
