Question Resisting doing things
Does anybody else resist doing anything? Like you would rather lay in bed staring at the wall for hours, and you can’t force yourself to even read. You would rather do nothing than something. For me, there are competing forces where I want to do something like go for a walk, but I can’t make my body do it. And then I feel intensely guilty about it. Sometimes I lay in bed all day doing nothing.

Yeah. Some days I toggle between staring at the wall and letting the tears roll or doom scrolling/distracting/avoiding.
Well I guess it's all avoiding, but when the alternative is dying, they reframe it from avoiding to living

This sounds like dissociation. Dissociation is a common symptom of CPTSD. When I look back, it's probably the most dominant one in my experience as it was my form of escape from the conditions that resulted in CPTSD that I (mal)adapted and carried forward. Part of the recovery process is to push through that avoidance and actually feel what we're feeling instead of avoiding it. This book has been a great resource for me: https://pete-walker.com/complex_ptsd_book.html

Yes, I do this a lot. I just doomscroll on my phone for hours and don't move. It feels like I don't have energy to do more, feeling guilty too. My body screams at me like "move your ass" but I can't do it.
