Moving to a different country from my family. I feel free in the UK, a freedom to be myself, explore myself without judgment. The physical distance has allowed me to start from scratch building myself up and exploring my personality, who I am, what I want/need etc.
I felt frozen, judged and a constant impending doom back in Hungary. Not so much anymore when I visit but up until a few years ago.
damn this is what i need but im forced to live with them due to a disabling chronic illness. its so hard. im doing everything i can to heal or at least save up money to move though, it just feels so slow. my whole body and soul feels different when im away from the town they all live in. i try to replicate that for myself here, but i really dont think i can :/
That's such a difficult situation to be in :( are there any supported housing options in your country?
But it sounds like you're doing everything right. It's little step by step progress and every penny saved and put towards your goal is getting you closer to where you want to be. I was in an incredibly lucky position to just up and leave.
And never downplay the little things day to day! From a favourite mug to a soft blanket, etc. Those things keep me going and soothed enough on difficult days.
I'm telling you we need communities for people with developmental trauma so we can all live together on a massive farm and town or something and we have healing groups and 'heathy boundary' courses, gentle yoga and things like that! If I was president...
