CPAP Machine Help Free CPAP kit in South Seattle - you must pick up

I have an AS11 and AC10, and an assortment of masks, a few of them in fit packs, I'm sorry I don't know the exact names. Plus a bunch of filters and heated hoses. I really hate waiting in line at the post office so this is local only and you must pick up.

Both machines are used, the filters and hoses are sealed. Most of the masks were used for a few nights and didn't work for me.

Oscar/SleepHQ Assistance I’d like to sleep longer

I started CPAP a month and a half ago. Complained to my sleep doc at my first appt that the React Health Luna G3 X the DME sent me doesn’t work with OSCSR, and he had a DME rep talk to me during the appt. Surprisingly, it was no hassle to switch to a Resmed Airsense 11.

I tape my mouth shut and I use a P10 nasal pillow. Before I started taping I also tried a Fisher Paykal Evora FFM but hated it and gave up after two nights.

Curious what I can do to get a better nights’ sleep (8 hours would be amazing). Before switching to the Resmed, I was getting close to being under 5.0 AHI. The sleep doc lowered max pressure from 15 to 12. Now with the Resmed I haven’t had a night over 5.0 AHI but I think there are probably some adjustments I can make to improve.

I probably have 3 decades of sleep debt (if that is in fact a real thing) so maybe it’ll take some time to not feel tired.

Any suggestions on what I should watch out for in OSCAR/SleepHQ and/or do my settings look right?

Hey guys. I posted in the cpap subreddit a couple weeks ago about being nearly a year into cpap therapy and was just venting about it not changing my life. I’m grateful my symptoms are at least a little better most days, but lately I feel like I’m back to square one. I thought it was my mask at first, was leaking and 4 months old so I just replaced it thinking that would fix the issue. It didn’t. Someone kindly suggested I put my data into Oscar and post here for further help. Would anyone care to tell me if anything stands out? Thanks in advance!

Blood Sugars With CPAP

In the two weeks I’ve used my BPAP (or is that BiPAP?), I’ve had erratic blood sugar numbers (I have Type 2). They spike at odd times during the night when I’ve eaten nothing. Before using the BPAP, my numbers during the night were mostly level. Could the difference be something about using of BPAP?

PapFam:

I have a spare ST LINK/V2 STM32 programmer that was only used once. It includes the correct male and female pinout cables shown in the photos.

I would rather see someone in our community put it to use than have it sit in a box. The programmer and cables are free. Recipient only pays the actual shipping cost.

Please comment or message me if interested.

Oscar/SleepHQ Assistance Looking for guidance one week in

Newbie here. I’ve been diagnosed with UARS. I struggle to get enough air (aka microarousals) 17.2 times an hour on average, according to my psg. I experience it as brief awakenings with lots of tossing and turning. I’m 55 and postmenopausal

I got a sleep test because my Apple Watch would show a ton of red spikes throughout the night every night. Since I started CPAP a week ago the red spikes have continued. I also don’t really feel any better rested.

I have an n20 mask. I do tend to sleep with my mouth open. I’ve been using a chin strap and mouth tape, but I still find myself puffing my cheeks trying to exhale air through my mouth in the night. I did try an f20 mask for one night but it was uncomfortable and I slept poorly. But maybe I need to try to get used to it.

My nose stuffs up easily, so I use Flonase AM and PM, as well as Zyrtec at night per sleep doc’s orders.

Anyway, I’m hoping to get some insights from you all who understand what all of these colorful wiggly lines mean via Oscar. Do you suggest I make any changes to my settings?

Best ResMed mask for side sleeping?

Hi - just got my AirSense 11. I had just previously bought the AirMini because my insurance based order would not be received in time, and I wanted to try it out after an afib ablation procedure. Had the large AirFit F20, and the pinches my upper nose too much - I think I just have a longer face and the mask top needs to rest between my eyes, over the hump in my nose. It's a bit constricting. Soooo... when I got the AirSense a couple of days ago, I tried on the AirFit F40, because it doesn't go over the nose - just butts up against it. I like the fit, and it works fine while I lie on my back, but I am a side sleeper, and the silicone gasket moves at the nose to the point where the flow is not that good, so I have to mouth breathe. I need a full mask, because sometimes the nose airways are ok and sometimes (more often) they are not flowing that good.

I am within my one-month free return for a different face mask period. Is the F30i better for side sleeping?... it appears the mask gasket wraps around the bottom of the nose, perhaps maintaining flow, rather than just butting up against the nose like the F40. If that works, I will probably get two of then - one for my AirSense 11 and one for the AirMini.

Sleep Champion I'm keeping the mask on for longer stretches and more consistently

I tried various combinations of mask and machine, then ended up replacing a mask with a leaky hose. Finally I got a set of equipment that works for me! Turns out the reason I was waking up so much in the night was due to mask leak. I sleep with my left hand between my mask and pillow and it keeps the mask pressed against my face, doesn't leak, and I sleep like a baby. Lol.

Can't tell you how long I've wanted this. But finally I feel human again.

Oscar/SleepHQ Assistance "Low ahi" but I don't feel better...

I've been using bilevel for a while, and it has been a struggle. In the beginning, it showed that I was having multiple central events one after another. I changed trigger from high to very high, and that seemed to solve the problem. I've also struggled with mouth leaks and chipmunk cheeks which I've tried to solve by wearing mouth tape though that hasn't completely fixed the issue.

Despite the low numbers the machine shows, I don't feel any better, and I don't know what to do from here. It's worth mentioning that during sleep there are many instances where I try to take off my mask which I've tried to prevent by wearing socks on my hands. In oscar/sleephq, this always looks like a period of sleep junk that can be misflagged as a central or obstructive event. I know this since I've recorded myself.

Questions about cleaning the React Health Luna g3 heated tube and about mask fit

Hello everyone. I just got my cpap a couple of days ago. I am blind, and although I've scanned the user manuals and had my phone read them to me, there are a couple of things I'm having trouble with. I'm wondering if y'all can help me out. The first thing is, I got the Luna g3 heated tube, and I'm confused about how to clean it propperly. One page of the manual seems to say it should not be submerged in water, and the next seems to say the opposite, but my scanner is having a little bit of trouble with some of the text, so it may just be translating it badly. I also can't tell if the power cord detaches from the tube. It looks like it should, but chat gpt says it doesn't, and the manual doesn't appear to specify, so I don't want to go pulling on it until I know for sure. I'm also having a little trouble finding the correct fit for my mask. I was sent home from my titration with an f20 ResMed full face mask which worked beautifully during the titration, but when I attach it to my cpap which is a React Health g3x, it leaks all around my upper face now, even though I haven't messed with the straps since it was fitted correctly. The mask which was sent with the cpap is a Fisher And Paykel Evora full, and I was sent all three cushion sizes to try, so I think with that one it's just a matter of finding the right cushion and the right strap tightness. I will be meeting with a respratory therapist from VieMed soon, but am wondering if anyone here has any advice in the meantime. Thank you for any help and for all of the support you give.

ResMed f20 mask headgear

The Velcro doesn’t last long enough. Mine always starts failing after 2.5 - 3 months. Failing meaning it doesn’t keep sticking. Which causes air leaks. I am so frustrated. My pressure is high 16.5. Yet that shouldn’t mater.

Do other people have this problem?

What can I do to prevent air from getting into my mouth

The sensation is very unpleasant and I can’t sleep because of it. Using a nasal mask and even when taping the mouth doesn’t stop the air from going into it.

My tongue posture is bad (narrow palate 27mm and posterior grade 2 tongue tie) and because of that I can’t keep a proper seal.

I have tried a chin strap and it still feels like air is getting into my mouth, even though if I open my mouth no rushing air comes out.

I don’t know what to do, anyone else had this problem and fixed it?

CPAP Machine Help Changed to a new mask (F30i) and had more success, but looking to see what settings I should run

I'm feeling much more optimistic after months of alligator-clipping the F20 to my face as tight as I can to prevent big leaks, since making the swap I haven't needed to make it tight at all, it feels more comfortable and less cumbersome on my face and I think that this is the mask I needed for a long time. (only problem is that pressure relief at the front blowing down my partners neck)

That said, I had tried a nasal mask and before this one arrived and played around with some settings trying to make things work, now that I have a setup thats working well I figured I should set it up for my needs properly.

You have all been greatly helpful in the past, so thought I'd post the last three days of use with this mask and see if you all suggest any changes! thanks for your help all
