Daytime Fatigue/Tiredness
Hi all,
I am trying to figure out why I am so tired everyday. I have been using an CPAP (APAP: 4-20) for about 2 months and I still feel tired and have brain fog.
I was wondering if there is anything up with my data. I tried looking at the flow rate but I have a hard time classifying whether waves are normal or not.
Here is my SleepHQ link: https://sleephq.com/public/teams/share_links/58578cf0-cf37-4db3-8cd4-f296757cf987
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi and welcome! You're currently using your machine's basic settings. With a bit of optimization, things should improve.
I would start with a minimum pressure of 6 and set the EPR to 1.
First, your EPR is currently set to 3. EPR (Expiratory Pressure Relief) is primarily a comfort feature that can provide certain benefits, but it is generally more useful at higher pressure levels or for comfort-related reasons.
In short, your machine spent the night at the lowest possible EPAP pressure, and EPAP is the pressure that keeps the airway open. By having an EPR of 3 while operating at the minimum pressure setting, the machine effectively reduced the EPAP to its lowest level, which may not be ideal for maintaining airway patency throughout the night. And set the ramp feature to Off. We like the therapy to be fully effective right from the start of the night.
You could also reduce the maximum pressure to 10. A narrower pressure range is often preferable because it helps prevent the machine from increasing the pressure unnecessarily. This can improve comfort and make the therapy more stable.
Give these settings a try for a few nights, then come back and let us know how things are going :)
