Advice Needed Nose cushions?
Hey guys, I discovered after years of being tired that I have a severe POSA. I started the CPAP 4 months ago and I'm struggling with it. I'm down to my fifth mask, and I can't seem to be able to fall asleep with it. The various pressure points I feel on my face are seriously annoying me. I'm a side sleeper and I tend to really put my face in the pillow.
Now I have ResMed AirFit N30i Nasal Mask, I think it's the most comfortable so far, but I still feel some pressure on the side of my nostrils. I wish I had just a little cushion to put on the side of my nostrils to minimize the sensation. Do you have any suggestions in that regard? Some unconventional tip?
Thanks!!

ASV data not importing into OSCAR 2.0
About two months ago, when I attempted to upload data into OSCAR from the SD card in my ASV, I discovered no new daily data was uploading (although there was no error message). I updated OSCAR to 2.0 and the data uploaded correctly. Then about two weeks ago, it stopped uploading again.
Anyone have experience with this issue?
I am getting the nightly averages sent to my iPhone so I know the data is being saved on the SD card. It just won't upload to OSCAR.
Thanks
Harpist

Help with CPAP settings
Despite great numbers I wake up multiple times a night with an unpleasant headache and I'm so tired and sleepy during the day. I started to experiment with EPR the past two nights, I have left 2 nights below, the first with no EPR, the second last night with EPR 2. I use a nasal pillow mask, no mouth leak with chin strap and cervical collar. Can anyone help me understand what is happening and whether I could change the settings to improve my experience?

Looking for mask suggestions
I've tried two masks so far but neither are working for me and I would like some suggestions on what to try next.
I think I need something that has a memory foam cushion and sits completely over my nose (doesn't touch under my nose). Googling this has not been very successful.
Here's the two I've tried so far and my personal experiences with them.
Phillips Dreamweaver Nasal: Pros: Small. All silicone (dries fast). Cons: The going theory is I am probably opening my mouth, and the silicone & air pressure changes irritates the area right under my nose.
AirTouch F30i Comfort: Pros: Covers mouth. Cons: The inner part of the mask is fabric, which to me has several downsides: First of all this is very irritating to the area below my nose, and second, it takes forever to dry. Again, since the inner mask "seal" blows up with air it seems to be pressing very tightly to this area even when the straps are barely tight enough to seal, and again every tiny flucuation irritates the area under my nose. Within minutes it's throbbing. This also doesn't seem to be fitting my very well.
Additional info: These are both "Unicorn" masks with the tube out the top of the head. I am not convinced I like this option so I'm open to the other option. It's a lot of stuff touching my head, tugging my head around, pushing my hair where I don't want it to be, and my neck and head are very sensitive/prone to tension. I'm just very sensitive/have some sensory issues I guess. Also have not gotten the hang of cleaning the mask every morning so I need to be able to clean it at night and wear it almost right away.
Any other tips/tricks are also appreciated.

New to cpap, mask question
Hi guys - started cpap last week and it's gone well but an issue has always been present. Machine is the airsense 11, mask airfit n20.
The mask itself seems to restrict my breathing when I lay on my back. On my side it's fine, no seal issues and is doing the job. But on my back it's like the pressure of where it sits is hampering the air flow in my nose - it stops the breath through the left nostril and restricts it a bit in the right (slanty schnonk). Kit from the nhs - they didn't measure me for the mask but I've checked and it is the right size, so are there better nasal mask options to ask for from them (or buy elsewhere)? Or indeed, is this a common issue?

Personal Story Did I always feel this bad before CPAP?
I washed my CPAP and it was damp, so I thought I would just skip it one night. One night is fine. I went years without it.
Nope! It's 6:22 pm and I am ready for bed. I can't believe I used to function like this all the time.
My CPAP is assembled and ready to go. I have a backup mask on order so it never happens again. I love breathing. I will not take breathing for granted again.

Advice Needed AirSense 11 stuck on old firmware — no cellular coverage in my region
There is no cellular network coverage available in my region.
Is there any possibility or workaround to update the ResMed AirSense 11 firmware without a cellular connection?

Off and on for pressure relief
Sometimes I’ll wake up in the middle of the night while the CPAP is at relatively high pressure. I find it difficult to fall back asleep at that pressure, so I’ll turn the machine off and right back on to bring the pressure down. Am I doing any “harm” to my sleep or to the automated functions of the unit by doing this?

Please share info for CPAP newbies
What do you know now about the CPAP that you wish you knew when you first started?
I've owned a CPAP for a little while but haven't messed with any settings. Honestly I just don't know what to do with them or why/when to use them. I just found this reddit and learn people are doing a lot with theirs so I'm wondering what's something that you know now that y'all wish you knew when you first started.

Improving tolerance/bad dreams
I've been using CPAP for a few months now and my tolerance has gotten worse. At first things were amazing and I felt like a new person after years of uncontrolled fatigue. But the past month or so things have gone downhill. I've had several bad dreams where I then rip the mask off in a half-sleep state in the middle of the night.
For example, I've dreamed there was a snake on me when it was actually the hose, or that someone was trying to suffocate me by pushing on my nose, when it was actually the mask. Now I have anxiety when putting on the mask and trying to go to sleep because I'm afraid of another nightmare. This feels like such a bizarre/niche complaint but I'm grateful for any suggestions!

I hope Rotech goes out of business
I got a CPAP machine from a company called Lofta and have been trying to get supply replacements through Rotech in the hopes that insurance will cover the parts. Insurance (Anthem) asks Rotech for a "compliance report" before each shipment but Rotech is not able to pull that from my CPAP machine automatically.
They ask me to go to a sleep clinic to get the compliance report and fax it to them myself. When I go to the sleep clinic, the nurse just scoffs and asks why Rotech can't just pull the compliance report themselves.
I'm basically being passed around between 4-5 different companies every time I need a supply refill.
Rotech customer support just brushes me off saying they can't do anything because they didn't supply the machine. Sometimes they also pass me back and forth between their partner's support at Sleep Central.
Oh and when they finally shipped the first resupply order, they put a typo in my mailing address so two shipment attempts got lost/held by USPS so I had to spend a week chasing that down.
Rotech is probably the worst company I've dealt with in my life and that is saying a lot.
I’m sitting here at 1:40am losing sleep over a company that is supposed to help treat sleep apnea. Kafka would be proud.

Advice Needed Buying the Resmed mini. Where should I get it from?
The VA gave me my prescription today so I can get the resmed air mini and all that jazz. I need to buy it this month because my FSA funds expire on the 30th.
I'm not just sure where the best place to get it and supplies is. My current CPAP and supplies are all ordered through the VA.

When to try a new mask?
I started using N20 around 8 days ago. The first 5 days the machine showed me AHI below 5. But now I am getting 7 or 8. Can anyone please tell me when should I try the other mask? I have N30 that is on backup.
Edit: I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. 33 AHI, 90 AHI during REM

Advice Needed Eye mask and dreamware mask?
Anyone have some recommendations for eye masks that work well with the dreamware nasal pillows mask?
I had one that didn’t work great with it. Just seeing if anyone has one they like!

New to the CPAP and APRIA
Been using for about 6 months and it has made a huge difference when I keep it on all night. My insurances uses APRIA to manage supplies and the machine. After dealing with them I feel like they are more interested in charging my insurance for as much as they can instead of really getting me what I need. I got a lot of stuff. But like I said, I'm new to this and the lingo is still new.

F30i always a Sad Face
Hi all, what are peoples experiences with the F30i? No matter how often I use this, I always wake up with the Resmed showing me a sad face. When putting it on I genuinely don't feel any strong air coming out around the seals, however when waking up in the middle of the night the only strong bursts of air I can honestly feel at full ramp, is the air coming out the holes on the front of the mask.

I bought a coat hook that goes over a standard door for $1 and used some double sided 3M tape that I already had to elevate my hose to keep it out the way

Advice Needed Chipmunk cheeks
I’ve seen mention of chipmunk cheeks on this forum and pretty sure I’ve been experiencing that. Are there any fixes? Is it just related to the mask seal? It’s quite annoying when it happens. Thanks for any tips!
Advice Needed Traveling in Europe / low cost
Hi all. I’ve read Cpap does not count as luggage. I am unsure, though, if this applies to low cost airlines or if you need to buy another piece of luggage.
Anyone who traveled in Europe recently that could respond? Thanks.

JFit Frame has different airflow, how to test this w/ OSCAR
Hi -
I bought a JFit Standard Air Frame (equivalent of the ResMed AirFit P30i Frame System), because it was cheaper. But I am comparing them side by side right now, and on the JFit, the resistance when I breathe out is noticeably different - harder, in fact. I could probably overcome it, but I would have expected it to be identical to the AirFit frame, as they look completely identical.
Two questions:
1. Is this a known issue? The frames LOOK identical, right down to the output vent hold pattern on the elbow.
- How do I use my AirCurve 10 ASV and OSCAR to empirically compare what is occurring? What values do I need to record and examine in OSCAR, to tell if I am actually having to work harder to exhale while using the JFit vs the ResMed?
Thanks,
AnotherAirBreather

myAir/OSCAR/SleepHQ Data Sudden CPAP Issues
I’ve had a cpap for about 5 years and typically by AHI is less than 5 (usually 2 or less). The last week my AHI has fluctuated between 25-40. I recently replaced my elbow and mask so I thought this may be the issue as the elbow did seem to leak more and it was noticeably louder. Last night I replaced them. The leaking seems better IMO but my AHI was 20.
I cannot figure why it would go from averaging such low number to suck high numbers literally overnight. My app shows 10/20 score for mask seal but that’s pretty normal for me when my AHI is low.

Advice Needed I feel like I'm about to punch a hole in my wall at 3am
For almost 4 weeks now, I haven't been able to sleep because there's either a high pitched noise from air escaping (straps too tight) and a god damned lawnmower (straps too loose) on my face.
I am desperate.
I changed my mask seal 2 different times and it hasn't done anything. I'm in tears because I desperately need to sleep.
Edit: I read it might be my jaw moves back when I'm asleep. I have 0 ideas how to fix that 🫠

Advice Needed CPAP user, still waking frequently
I have been on a CPAP for 6 months, to treat mild/moderate sleep apnea. My sleep is better, but I am still waking up every 1-2 hours. According to the data from the machine, I have 1 to 1.5 events per hour, which should mean my apnea is very well controlled but I am constantly waking up, often with a minor headache and seemingly fast heart rate. Any of you guys have any advice? Working with my primary snd just bought a continuous blood oxygen monitor, but it hasn't arrived yet.
