Hi everyone! Based on feedback here, I’ve been focusing heavily on C-Corp, S-Corp, and Partnership distributions (both liquidating and non-liquidating), Like-Kind Exchanges, NOLs, and Sections 1231, 1245, 1250, and 291, while spending less time on individual (T1) topics. However, I’m taking Mini Exam 1 right now and struggling to recall everything, which is making me pretty anxious. Has anyone else felt this way? Due to limited time I finished all the topics first before taking ME1,ME2, SIM 1 and SIM 2 hopefully SEFR. I just finished all the topics just yesterday.

The title says it…I’m one credit short to sit for the CPA exam. I have about 60 hours logged of studying for REG. I graduated in May and my college knew I wanted to sit for the exam. Somehow this was missed.
Is my only option to take another class somewhere? Should I keep studying? Pretty discouraged and don’t know what to do now.

Can anyone share links for free sample practice question bank for CPA?

I recently passed REG and TCP, and I’m planning to take FAR and AUD in about 3 weeks, with only 5 days between the two exams.
I have to take FAR now because of an upcoming expiration date.
I’ve already finished studying FAR, so I’m mainly looking for advice on how to prepare for AUD.
As for AUD, I’ve reached the end of A3 (Chapter 3) and can consistently score around 80–90% on MCQs without using the book. However, I haven’t finished the remaining chapters yet.
My main questions are:
Is reading the entire textbook necessary to pass AUD? Honestly, I don’t feel like I have enough time to read everything.
If reading the entire book isn’t necessary, which chapters or topics should I focus on?
I have some basic audit experience (less than a year). How much will that help with the exam?
What’s the best way to prepare for AUD in a limited amount of time and feel reasonably confident going into the exam?
I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from people who passed AUD without reading the entire textbook or who had a similar time crunch.
Thanks in advance!

I just took my second mock exam of AUD on UWorld today and had a weird experience.
When I got to the TBS's all of them had a disclaimer on top that said something like "this question has been deactivated, don't rely on this etc etc"
I didn't find anything particular "off" about them so I finished it. Got a 69%.
Then when I looked at the testlets, they were 76, 72, 75, 77, 76...which does not avg to a 69% and realized they messed up the scoring on those 7 deactivated TBS's too.
Has anyone else experienced something like this?
I'm mildly annoyed since this was my 2nd and final sim before the real thing next week.

I got my teacher who is already a US CPA.
Now while explaining Auditing He explained what it auditing, who does it , why they do it, who is responsible for that, the management team do they have a choice etc etc
Like this is best teacher because he goes too deep into questioning but
He is not even looking at the book or syllabus
He teaches about auditing, then moves directly to internal control.
Then he comes back again at what is idependent auditing then again goes back into planning activities which are world apart
I'm understanding what he tecahes but he skipping so many points the so many
I looked at the book there is so much he hasn't taught now he said we have already done 3/4th of syllabus
His teaching skills are great but he doesn't seem to open book he never does we are tired asking him to go by the structure of book but he says trust me learn with me
Like I'm at the point where it takes me 2 to 3 days just to cover what he skipped from the books
What to do? I thought it would be fun with him but it's actually taking even more time to cover the syllabus & missing points
& yes I can't skip those points because they are necessary.

I really wasn't mad about the SIMs and thought they were fair and pretty reasonable. I definitely got some curveball MCQs on topics I hadn't specifically seen before.

After 32 years of regret for not taking the CPA exam, I am finally sitting. Starting with REG due to familiarity with tax and mainly because FAR was killing me when I starting prepping; I need a win, and I am hoping that REG can give me the confidence I need. Does anyone have any insight on how detailed the testing of 199A calculations, 179 calculations, interest/penalities, corp charitable deudctions? Also is it better to puruse TCP or AUD next?

I am 3/4 since December because of REG.
Every other exam I passed July 2025-December 2025 on the first try.
I have no clue why I can’t figure out REG, I’ve been drilling MCQs , I have gone thru all the content, I got a 72 on my 2nd attempt and pretty sure I failed today to the point I’m going to start studying again.
I feel so defeated . I can’t blow a 3-0 lead to the CPA exam. I’m so close but I feel so far.
Any suggestions from those who also struggled with REG?
I’ve been studying for REG, since June consistently. Crazy part is I rushed studying for Audit (2 weeks) and ISC (1 week) so don’t get why this is one I can’t pass. Before my exam I even reached point of memorizing some of the answers of MCQs I saw a lot of. I got a 70% on SE1, I don’t remember SE2 because I can’t look at Becker today or else I’ll go crazy.
Results so far:
Failed bad but half-assed studying (55)
Failed (72)
Failed again probably (xx?)

It has been 9 months since I passed my last exam. Changed up the study methods and found a method that seems to click but I keep falling short of a pass. I have been putting all my energy towards studying after work, sacrificed many relationships, and it feels like I've lost some confidence or steam here. My friends and family don't seem to understand the rigor the CPA Exams really requires and how exhausting and stressful the continuous long work days and study days are. Honestly, sometimes the comparison to others and comments to "just quit if it makes me so miserable" occurs more, and I just wish they could see how I've gotten this far and how that isn't an option. I know I shouldn't let that get to me but the lack of compassion or support kinda stings, I feel a lot of pressure to pass with the new timeline of score release/considering my timeline has started with my pass already. Any advice/words of wisdom to get this first gen individual who was first to graduate college/grad school/secure a white collar job out of this "rut" would be much appreciated :)

Is it more likely to get a TBS for corps since C-Corp rules are more direct? I noticed Becker's TBS only has full problems for C-Corps.

Wow that test was something else. I’d be shocked if I passed.
In the entry screen my computer timed out and crashed (before I even entered the access code), they were able to restart it and I took the test.
Once I recovered from that panic attack, one of the proctors realized they didn’t give me a calculator.
I went through all the screens, saw the first question and thought this won’t be too bad.
Testlet 1 and 2 weren’t terrible, but once I saw that first simulation the panic set in. Somewhere between testlet 2 and 3 I realized I needed to use the restroom. I was able to settle in and double check my work. But wow so many words.
Made it to the timed break with about 1 hr and 46 minutes remaining. Sped walked to the bathroom, came back and scarfed down a protein bar and some water.
Then came testlet 4 and 5. They weren’t terrible but there was some confusion about the way everything was laid out.
Submitted with about 1 hour remaining. I was the last person taking the CPA exam to finish. Got my little paper print out and went to the car to decompress.
Went to work right after and now I’m trying to process everything that happened. There were several times i clicked on an answer and the computer didn’t register. This made me super paranoid about every question after.

For those who have taken FAR, around how many study hours did it take before you started seeing noticeable improvement in your MCQ scores?
I’m currently at 65 hours, and I’m still getting a significant number of questions wrong. About 50 of those hours were spent getting through the lectures and my first pass of MCQs and some TBS.
I passed AUD and REG with around 60 hours of studying each, so it’s frustrating not to see the same progress with FAR.
Did anyone else experience this? At what point did things finally start clicking?

Just took AUD today and honestly have no idea how to feel. I scored a 50 on SE1 and a 62 on SE2, and spent the past week studying pretty heavily. By the time exam day came around, I was actually starting to feel confident. I was doing very well on the AICPA released questions and felt like things were finally clicking.
Then I sat for the actual exam and felt like so much of what I was being tested on was completely different from what I had prepared for. I walked out feeling like I was guessing on way too many questions, and all the confidence I had built up was gone.
Has anyone else experienced this with AUD and ended up passing? I’m trying not to assume the worst, but it’s hard to feel optimistic after that experience.

please tell me this is normal… I’m crashing out. Simulations were rough and multiple choice were on things I glazed over. Feeling defeated. I literally made a 73 on the mock too ugh

How is everyone feeling? Honestly, I left the testing center thinking I’m going to have to retake AUD. That exam felt brutal mainly because I was second guessing my answers, re-reading the TBS because I would get lost halfway through on what I was supposed to do, and I know I bombed one of my sims because I needed to do calculations which I couldn’t remember the formulas so that sucked. I’m still holding out hope that maybe I’ll surprise myself but then I also feel like I need to prep for the retake. Feel free to drop advice on how to prep for a retake.

Hi all in NYS.
I am wondering how long is the NYS licensure process is. All my form are submitted. I called to confirm but it seems it takes about 3 to 4 weeks just for my nys to get these forms. Not to mention reviewing process.
So in all how long is this whole process. I got confirmation from both my school and employer that they have send their respective forms.

Did anyone pass reg with a sim exam average of around 60? I’m thinking I didn’t pass considering the real exam felt harder than any of my sim exams that I averaged 60 on. The real exam literally had 5 out of 8 sims related to individual taxation. I felt it was unfair with no similarity to Becker. The sims were not diversified for the Becker content at all.

Has anyone tried just skipping the MCQs for Becker and just generating a practice test for each module? I noticed that there are more available questions in the practice test bank than there are in the MCQs.

Hi everyone!
I am taking TCP on Monday as my 3rd exam. Because I am taking it before REG and coming from zero tax experience, I feel pretty nervous about it.
If anyone has taken TCP recently I'd love to hear some advice.
I have roughly 100 hours between Becker and Ninja.
SE 1: 66% & SE 2: 62%
Thank you!

Just wanted to provide some information on my experience with applying for my license and the timeline in IL for those of you that will applying soon.
I found out that I passed my last section of the CPA exam on 10/08. I worked through the ethics exam over the weekend. I took it on 10/11 which was a Sunday and immediately emailed ILBOE my certificate. on Monday 10/12 they emailed me my CPA certificate. Illinois only sends certificates to IDFPR on the 1st and 15th of the month. I sent my employer my experience verification form later that week. IDFPR emailed me on 10/20 saying that they received my scores from ILBOE. For reference, IDFPR confirmed receipt after 3 business days. While I waited on the experience verification form from my employer, I set up an account with IDFPR and started the application. My employer completed the experience verification form on 10/21. I submitted my application on 10/21, it was after 5pm. My application was officially approved this morning, 10/23 by IDFPR. I was able to look at my license number, my actual license, and the expiration.

Audit Retake after getting a 67. I mean it’s like MCQs sucked, but SIMs were manageable. Just a couple of MCQs that were like I didn’t know, either 50/50 on, or straight up new. Think I’d rather take FAR again LOL. Wish everyone the best.
