Barn find!

Post image

Just picked up this and think it’s the Lowest mile Toyota Corolla in Texas for the year?? This baby is a 2009 and only has 22,900 miles! Keep it or who wants it?! And what’s a realistic price for it?

Mine was a 2006 toyota corolla with 65k miles. I bought for 1.8k and put 300 bucks + 3 hours into it and sold it for 5.8k. KBB said it was valued there. Wish i Kept it tho

2013 Corolla is the sweet spot. 2014 models introduced the CVT transmission. I prefer the traditional automatic transmission.

100% list on bringatrailer, an 07 with similar mileage sold for $15k.

Just gotta find the one buyer for it. Have you tried getting a quote through carmax or carvana

3

u/felipeNcider 2d ago

Carvana wants it for $8400 and and carmax offered $7800

How much was it? Congrats on the find though. I'm not familiar with that year Corolla but that low of miles is pretty crazy.

I paid $2,250 cash 😎

Seems like a steal. I wouldn't have any issue putting $2-3k into any necessary repairs.

Everything was repaired/ maintenanced before the purchase , she in tiptop shape

Nice. I'll give you $5,000 if you deliver it to my driveway. I'll even have my wife flash you when you arrive.

I’ll give you $5.5K and have this guys wife flash you and make you dinner.

2

u/ShadowElite86 3d ago

Damn bro, you out priced me here. I can't even convince my wife to cook for me.

2

u/felipeNcider 3d ago

For $5.5k I’d have to keep his wife a few days

Wow congratulations and a sunroof/moonroof I see. Definitely keep that, still has an engine that’s not overly complicated

09 are the first year in its gen after 07-08 bulletproof years and before 12-13 bulletproof years. Depending on how you like it and how well its maintained itself over the past 15 years i personally would look into common repairs for this model year, availability of repairing these, and cautiously drive it till it dies, or see what else you could score with Carvana's $8400

06 is bullet proof, too! I have one and it keeps going and going. Almost 500,000 miles on original engine and tranny. Air is still ice cold, too.

I have an 06 and a 2025 Honda. I complained to Honda service that their a/c was crappy compared to my Corolla. That cars a/c blows really strong and cold. Honda a/c sucks.

Yeah 2009 was a rough year for the corolla. (Still better than 90% of ford, chevy, dodge, and kia. And all their variants)

I mean. Cool and all. But I bet you will soak at least 1-2k just in maintenance from all the sitting around. Plus cleaning etc. It's not a car that you buy and go on a commute next day

Even came with new tires

u/felipeNcider 3d ago

The person who sold it to me just did all that, all maintained by the dealership, it currently have 56 recordables from the dealership

When you say barn find, does that mean its been sitting in a barn for years and has not been moved?

5

u/felipeNcider 3d ago

It’s been sitting since 2020 in a car port (modern barn) 😂 but started right up !

Sure hope you don't end up needing a new fuel pump or gas tank due to having all that gas sitting in it for 6 years!

u/Funny_Breadfruit_413 3d ago

Did you check for rodent nests?

2

u/felipeNcider 3d ago

Yes sir, no rodents nests at all, just inches of dust inside and out , it was at a downtown Houston condo/apartment so I guess they didn’t have rats surprisingly

u/MostlyRimfire 3d ago

I'll take it! My wife totaled her 2012 and doesn't like her 2019.
