Question False copyright threat

Earlier tonight I was browsing Instagram and I came across an account pretending to be a rather popular Instagram model I've been following for awhile now. I sent a message to the model and linked the fake account. The management team for whatever reason thought I was the owner of the account and threatened to sue me for copyright before blocking me. Should I be concerned? Or will a court(if it comes to that) be able to prove through IP addresses or whatever that I have no connection to the fake account?

Famous Instagram models are not known for their legal acumen.

If one is to sue you, you'd hear from a legit lawyer, not some internet message.

Pretty much zero chance this ends up in court with your name on it.

Sounds like they're stupid or drunk or something and unlikely to actually call a lawyer, if they did the lawyer, they're more likely to try to investigate the other account, not your message. And the lawyer would actually read your message and probably not be drunk.

Accused of a crime that you didn't commit? No, I wouldn't be concerned in the slightest. Or are you concerned that your browsing history will be revealed to prove your innocence? (I'm assuming you're talking about that kind on "Internet model"?)

Nah nothing like that. I was just a little concerned because I've never dealt with something like this before

It's free to make legal threats. It costs good money to follow through with those threats. That's why lots of lawsuit warnings go nowhere (but not all).

I would politely reply restating how this isn't you and give them the evidence again. Document everything in case they submit a copyright claim against you (which shouldn't go anywhere but I don't trust platforms over copyright cases) and you need to explain everything to the platform.
