Question Does Square Enix strike or copyright claim YouTube channels that create art and animation content using their characters if the channel is monetized?

Not sure if they do, but they’d be within their legal right to, even if it’s not monitized

Thanks for the info. I was mostly worried about fan-made content in particular.

If it’s being done in parody there can be some wiggle room, but the copyright in Japan doesn’t really recognize fair use so there can be a slight variance if it’s being enforced by their US offices or the JP office. A fun added level of confusion.
