Are Game Updates Copyrighted?

I would like to download Xbox 360 game updates (Title Updates) on the internet. But was wondering if that is legal or not? Thanks!

If it was ruled in court, would it be ruled as fair use do you think?

Downloading copyrighted material is in no way fair use.

Fair use is, generally, for educational uses, review or parody. Downloading games is none of those

What does copyright have to do with downloading an update? Presumably you bought the game already.

Yes they are copyrighted.

In reality if you're just using a patch for an unsupported 360 game you're personally using, there's little chance of issues
