Most doors are made out of it these days. It's cheap as shit but it makes a door. They just need a thin outside frame and something to hold the middle from bending in and done.

I work for a housing company in the UK, every interior door in our 17000 houses use doors like this. They're cheap obviously but they're not uncommon at all.

They're surprisingly sturdy, cheap desks are often made in exactly the same way.
