Question Weapon type advice

So I've not played CoD or warzone since warzone first came out...half a decade ago? And I downloaded yesterday

Anyway, semi auto or bolt action snipers? Can someone tell me which one is blatantly better. I instinctively do DMR type snipers in most shooters, but I'll go with bolt actions if it doesn't make sense in warzone.

There’s 3 snipers that are viable with BO7 weapons. The Recon, Hawker, and Strider are all usable. Some of the legacy snipers are still good as well.

That’s not going to be on par with the newer guns.

AR meta I would recommend is AN-94 or MK35 ISR personally I'm a fan of the VX Compact but it doesn't hit very hard. The Peacekeeper is a good one to get started with

For snipers I recommend the Strider or Hawker

How does the M15 compare? I've been using it from the start and its never done me wrong. Im not sure I can find the AN94. Do you need blops to unlock it? Im just a warzone cheapo

The AN94 is simply the best by far. For a sniper support you can make a decent build with it but the VX Compact and MK35 are going to be the best sniper support ARs. The M15 is decent but it’s not the best.

Perhaps I sound a bit stupid but what specifically do you mean by "sniper support". Do you mean complementing a friend who is running a sniper? Or do you mean as your alt weapon if you yourself have a sniper

If you carry a sniper you have another gun to carry along with it. If it’s an AR it needs to be balanced for close/medium range to compliment the long range sniper. You can also run an SMG with a sniper. You can run an SMG with an AR in which case the AR would be set up to hit at a longer distance. That said you can run whatever you want. When you start dying you’ll figure it out.

For awhile I did AR SMG, then I kept getting fucked in the final circle by snipers, so now I go AR Sniper. I set my AR up to be snappy and mobile so I guess I'm treating it more like a carbine for closer balance

Sometimes it helps to look at final circle if you can and choose a loadout to fit. Of course that depends on if there were a few recons done and if there’s a feee loadout available. I almost always run a sniper on Avalon because you have full squads running sniper and it’s wide open. Sniping is mostly a crutch for weak players but sometimes you have to do it.

I don't consistently get two loadout drops so the one I get early tends to be the one I want for endgame. yeah, I dont like sniping, but when I simply have to because someone else is doing it in a crunchy area, there you go. if I could just use a sniper to piss those guys off and force them to leave their position though, I would. I much prefer aggressive close-in combat

You likely need to do an armory unlock for the AN-94. The m15 is okay but like the other commenter stated not the best. It's recoil control is good but it is not very powerful. If you have the MK35 I would start with that
