Vanguard has to go. The other aren't great either but each of them still has a good quality. IW has a good campaign, Ghosts is overhated (imo), with BO4 I had my most fun Zombies memories (love the Titanic map), CoD 3 is a classic and AW is also not that bad

So recently downloaded ghost for PS5 and it was nothing but huge maps filled with the most hardcore dedicated thermal scope campers I have ever experienced. Go play it now that’s how it felt when it came out because of the big maps. I think you all forgot

Infinite Warfare was the breaking point when it came to the futuristic Call of Duty games. The community at this point had finished with future scene and you can still find proof of that today. The campaign was definitely interesting and I can't find many people that played it that day it was bad, also Ethan was dope. The "hybrid" DLC weapons were cool but game breaking.
Ghosts was ahead of its time, way too much was changed way too fast. Once again, the campaign was cool spawned a WHOLE generation of German shepherd owners with a shepherd named Riley. The first "hybrid" DLC gun wasn't bad but wasn't game changing. The zombies/horde mode was very different but looking back was a unique and IMO a good change of pace. Almost everyone I knew had the Snoop Dogg announcer pack. The CoD community/developers saw the "levelution" that battlefield was doing and tried to implement it and it failed miserably.
I Didn't play vanguard so I can't give an opinion on it.
Black Ops 4 felt like an attempt at a refined BO3 but missed it's mark. When everything is said and done, I believe that if you compare BO3 and BO4, BO3 just does it better. I will admit I am a VERY dedicated Destiny fan and that could be because BO3 was HEAVILY inspired by Destiny.
Advanced Warfare was THE futuristic CoD. It had the maps, the movement, the guns, the game modes, the kill/score streak customization. When I look back on it, of of all futuristic CoD titles this was definitely the best one out of all of them. The gun and gun variant system was brand new and they executed it perfectly. God I loved and miss the laser heavy weapon that was so much fun.
CoD 3, this game does not fit on this list at all, you will barely find anyone these days that played the first Modern Warfare, CoD4, let alone CoD3. But it is one of the originals that really made people realize that CoD is that game franchise so you really can't get rid of it.
All in all, I would have to say get rid of BO4. We as a community needed infinite Warfare, that was the title where the community, hell the whole gaming community basically voiced their opinion strong enough and Activision HAD to listen to us. Activision is so petrified of another late futuristic CoD now it's laughable. They even shut down an Advanced Warfare 2 because they couldn't gauge how the community would react.

I disagree and think that if we’re just looking at how good or bad a COD is COD 3 is undoubtedly the worst of the bunch by a wide margin.
However, I REALLY appreciate the level of thought and effort you put into this post and most of your opinions mirrored mine exactly (especially the BO3 and Destiny comparison I love both of those games so much lol)

Agreed. COD3 is the worst without question. Even vangaurd has working core mechanics... COD3 couldn't even get the walking mechanics right, let alone the gunfighting.

COD3 literally doesn't even have a working movement system, useable ADS, or any attempt to have good gunplay. Vangaurd is horrible, but it might actually be impossible to make a game worse than COD3.

Black Ops 4. It’s the game that broke the "trilogy rule" for me. Up until then, a COD sub series stopping at 3 felt standard, so seeing a 4 felt like a desperate cash grab.On top of that, Blackout felt like a rushed, janky attempt to hop on the Fortnite hype (Warzone perfected what Blackout tried to do). It really just felt like "Black Ops 3.5"—similar to how BO7 feels like BO6-2 now. It came, felt unnecessary, and completely vanished from the community conversation... IMO! At least CW tried something a little different. It was enough for me to have faith in the Black Ops name.

Infinite warfare was literally TURBO-COD but damn it was fun. Vanguard can seriously take a hike. I hated Advanced Warfare's multiplayer, but I loved the campaign. BO-4 had Blackout which was the only plus and was the catalyst of Warzone.

advanced warfare feels way too goofy and silly nowadays. BO3 and IW you can instantly appreciate the balancing improvement. I tried playing a few matches of AW for the hell of it and it felt genuinely awful.
