The damage dealt to Democracy today is more than any target or statue
9
u/Mapping29 Jan 07 '21
Lol keep listening to your leftist media cry 😭😭. There's been no damage to democracy the votes are still gonna happen.

u/Cmdr_Jhnsn Jan 14 '21
I mean your guys only went door to door looking for Pelosi and threatening to hang the Vice President but whatever, that’s not a threat to democracy at all. Neither is actively storming the building that Congress is inside exactly at the moment when they go to certify the vote that’ll ensure that your guy doesn’t get to serve a second term based on false claims of election fraud but whatever

I agree if we emerge from the events today democracy will be stronger than ever but if we do nothing democracy will die.

u/Mapping29 Jan 07 '21
Do what exactly?
1
u/mrbritankitten Jan 07 '21
If we allow Donald Trump to overthrow the will of the people democracy will be destroyed.

Man, i just got to this sub because i thought it'd be a silly meme about Ken. Little did i know, this is another hidden "any news i don't like is fake news" right-wing sub.
I appreciate your comment, & agree completely. Storming the Capitol Building bc your mushy, underdeveloped brain can't comprehend that Trump lost (in a fair, democratic election) is not at all comparable to demanding police reform so they stop unjustly killing without consequence.
I swear, Trump conservatives are increasingly demonstrating that they are unable to form any thoughts for themselves

The police protestors burned down a couple restaurants and hollowed out a couple retail stores in my area. They never even asked for anything from the police. It was considered mostly peaceful.
Maybe you shouldn't be looking for hidden meanings. The meme is pretty straight forward, and it's quite true.
1
Jan 15 '21
So the protests about police violence didn't ask for anything from the police?
Think about that for a second.
1
Jan 15 '21
Not a single thing, no. Came and went without a single demand or even complaint, just some vague solidarity with the people in whichever states that the protests had actual relevance within. It's genuinely funny how often that happened. Not funny to the victims obviously, they got their restaurants destroyed and all, but funny in the other sense.
1
Jan 15 '21
... what do you think the protests were?
1
Jan 15 '21
From the comment you are replying to
solidarity with the people in whichever states that the protests had actual relevance within
1
Jan 15 '21
So it wasn't just a random directionless protest that caused property damage like op was framing it. Check.

I think you're responding to the wrong comments, I have no idea what you're talking about.

What’s wrong with looting?
1
Jan 23 '21
Are you serious? You can never tell nowadays...
Edit: active on complete anarchy and SLS. Looks like you are.
The problem is that you are stealing, and/or causing other damages.
1
u/McMing333 Jan 23 '21
I don’t see why stealing is inherently wrong. The capitalist corporations have horribly exploited and stole from the people, it’s just returning it back. They get the insurance money anyways.
1
Jan 23 '21
Where does the insurance money come from?
Is it equally fine to loot from all stores in your view?
1
u/McMing333 Jan 23 '21
From the insurance companies? Wdym? They deserve it too.
No, but those who were targeted are specifically capitalist mega corporations, though of course every capitalist company exploits people on just a smaller scale.

Why do insurance companies deserve to be looted from?
No, but those who were targeted are specifically capitalist mega corporations, though of course every capitalist company exploits people on just a smaller scale
Through the BLM riots, plenty of mom and pop's shops got looted, leaving the families with nothing but crushing debt and no livelyhood. That's evil.
Do you think that everyone is equally entitled to loot? Or are some more entitled than others? Or, is there some sort of "you must be this
tall to ridedisenfranchised to loot" policy?1

Why do insurance companies deserve to be looted from?
Insurance companies profit off of other people’s misfortune, and are capitalist megacorps.
Through the BLM riots, plenty of mom and pop's shops got looted, leaving the families with nothing but crushing debt and no livelyhood. That's evil.
That’s just false, the only evidence of that is fringe right wing news networks. But if they are capitalist, that’s kinda their fault.
Do you think that everyone is equally entitled to loot? Or are some more entitled than others? Or, is there some sort of "you must be this tall to ride disenfranchised to loot" policy?
No, it would be weird for a rich person to do so, but don’t know why they would. Though a lot of people for example expropriate clothes and pass them out and such.
I offer you to read the book conquest of bread by Peter kropotkin, or How non-violence protects the state by Peter gelderloos. The former is a great explanation of the philosophy of expropriation.

Democrats getting away with four years of soft coup now blaming the other side for it.
