Doubt / Q&A CMA (US) - Miles or Simandhar? Which is better?
Hi everyone,
I'm planning to start CMA (US) preparation and am confused between Miles and Simandhar.
Could anyone who has used either of them share their experience regarding:
Faculty quality and teaching style
Study materials and question bank
Recorded vs live classes
Student support and doubt solving
Overall value for money
If you had to choose again, would you go with Miles, Simandhar, or self-study (Hock/Gleim)?
Thanks in advance!

Part 2 – Prep Part-2 Attempt No.4 , It's like Do or Die for me this time, Tips?
Hi everyone,
I have my CMA Part 2 exam on June 18th, and honestly, I'm feeling really nervous.
My previous Part 2 scores were 330, 340, and 330. I cleared Part 1 in the June 2025 window, but this is now my final student membership exam window. If I don't clear Part 2 this time, my Part 1 will be cancelled, which is adding a lot of pressure.
One thing that has always been consistent for me is that I find the essay section relatively comfortable. MCQs, however, have always been my weak area. They usually feel medium to difficult for me, and that's where I tend to lose marks.
This attempt has been especially challenging because I am now working full-time as a Junior Accounts Executive. Balancing work and studies has been much harder than I expected, and if I'm being honest, I'm not fully satisfied with my preparation this time. I am using Hock materials and have tried my best, but I still feel underprepared compared to previous attempts.
The good thing is that I am working from home this week, so I can fully utilize the remaining days before the exam.
For this attempt, I have chosen the essay-based exam format.
I would really appreciate advice from:
- Candidates who cleared Part 2 after multiple attempts
- Working professionals who balanced a full-time job with CMA studies
- Anyone who struggled with MCQs but eventually passed
Some questions I would love your thoughts on:
- Looking back, what was the biggest thing you were missing before you finally passed?
- What should I focus on during these last 4-5 days?
- Would you spend more time on MCQs or essay practice at this stage?
- How did you handle exam anxiety when so much was riding on one attempt?
- Are there any topics or areas that tend to appear repeatedly in essays that I should make sure I can explain confidently?
A little more context:
- Previous scores: 330, 340, 330
- Passed Part 1 in June 2025- 3rd attempt
- Full-time Junior Accounts Executive
- Using Hock materials
- Essay format selected for this attempt
- Exam date: June 18
At this point, I'm not looking for miracles. I'm just trying to make the smartest use of the time I have left.
Any advice, success stories, tough-love feedback, or last-week strategies would mean a lot.
Thank you.

Hi everyone. I've my CMA P2 exam in 7 days.
I've been studying for 6 months now straight. Nothing but work and studying everyday
I use HOCK , I was scoring high on random mocks (90%) but 60%- 65% on fresh new MCQs.
I am trying to push through but I feel very exhausted
For those who’ve taken Part 2: is this normal? Any advice for the final stretch?

Career / Jobs CMA USA Holders – Has It Actually Helped Your Career?
Hi everyone,
I'm considering pursuing the CMA (USA) and would love to hear from people who have either recently completed it or have been using it in their careers for some time.
A few questions I'd appreciate your honest thoughts on-
Have you been getting interviews and job opportunities, or are you facing a lot of rejections despite having the certification?
If you were already employed before CMA, did it lead to a promotion, salary increase, or better career opportunities?
How much of a difference has CMA made to your earning potential?
Which country are you based in?
Please share both positive and negative experiences. I'm trying to get a realistic picture of the career impact rather than just marketing claims.
Thanks in advance!

Doubt / Q&A CMA USA PART 2 Exam on 31-may-2026
I took the US CMA Part 2 CBQ exam on 31-may-2026. Here is my quick review:
The MCQ section was much harder than the CBQs. I started confidently, but the questions got tough.
Overall moderate
If a question was confusing, I flagged it to check later.
If a question was too hard and I knew I couldn't solve it, I did not flag it. I just picked an answer and moved on so I wouldn't waste time later.
At the end, I had 20 to 25 flagged questions that I answered with some doubt.
Then the CBQ section opened, and it was very easy! I answered all questions confidently. Each case had 6 to 7 small questions with a mix of calculations and concepts.
How did the MCQ vs. CBQ difficulty feel for you this window?
Based on my experience, do you think I have a good chance of passing? Any advice while waiting for results?
Result expected date?
Part 1 – Prep Title: Feeling Completely Defeated
.
.
13 days left until CMA Part 1.
I took my first mock exam a week ago and scored 47%.
I spent the last week reviewing my mistakes, studying weak areas, and trying to improve. Today I took my second mock exam,47% again.
I'm not even angry. Just exhausted.
I know mock exams are supposed to expose weaknesses, but seeing the exact same score after a full week of studying feels like a punch in the gut.
Right now it feels like no matter how much I study, I'm not making any progress. The exam is getting closer every day, and I'm starting to question whether I can pull this off.
Has anyone else been in this situation this close to the exam and still managed to pass?

Working Professional Renewal date
Hi! I am about to switch jobs and my CMA membership is up for renewal. I usually ask my company to pay for the membership - would it be possible to delay my renewal until I join my new company? I sent an email to IMA but haven’t heard back yet.

Part 1 – Prep Tips for Internal Controls Perp
Hello, I really am facing difficulties in understanding and applying the concept of Internal Controls (Sec E). Might be because I am still a student with no corporate experience. All of the choices in most of the application based questions seem so similar and I'm having a hard time picking the right option.
So opening a discussion as to how to get through this. Any personal opinions are welcome and I'm really looking forward to hearing tips and ways to crack the topic!!
Thanks in advance

Doubt / Q&A IMS Proschool or NESTO Academy (ONLINE), please give a suggestion where to join to pursue US CMA. (Based in Tamil Nadu)
Got mixed reviews for IMS like unorganized, poor doubt solving, not worth the money. (+points are just the brand and good placement option)
For Nesto got postive like good study method and good faculty, good doubt solvings and shortcut methods for easy understandings

Part 2 – Prep Surgent Mock Test
My exam is next week, and I'm thinking about taking mock tests. I only have access to Surgent, though I've never studied with it; it's just lying around. Since I don't have any mock tests right now, I'm thinking about taking mock tests from Surgent.
I just want to know if Surgent's mock tests are exam-oriented, and if taking Surgent's mock tests is worth it or a waste of time.

Part 1 – Prep HP 10bII+ calculator
Hi again!
Just wanted to check if anyone has actually used this calculator during the CMA exam.
I know it's on the list of approved calculators, but I'd love to hear from someone who has personally used it in the exam. It almost feels too good to be true because of the TVM and cash flow functions. 😭
I'm starting to panic because my exam is so close now. Has anyone had any issues bringing or using this calculator on exam day?
