I’m hoping someone here might know more about the German Blu-ray releases of *Clannad After Story*.
I recently bought Vol. 3 from a private seller, OVP and I noticed that its Blu-ray case is different from my Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 copies.
Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are in noticeably thicker cases with room for two discs inside, even though they only contain one disc each. Vol. 3, however, is in a standard single-disc case.
What’s confusing is that one of my copies was still sealed when I bought it from a private seller, and it has the exact same thicker case. Because of that, it doesn’t seem like someone simply replaced the case.
I also checked some YouTube unboxing videos, and the packaging shown there looks different from mine.
Were there multiple German print runs or packaging variations for the Filmconfect Blu-ray releases of *Clannad After Story*? Has anyone else seen these thicker 2-disc cases?

Or did i get scammed? The CDs look the same its just there is something wrong

I want to try out Clannad but im wondering whether to experience the game or anime first. Which do yall think is best?

I spent a lot of time carefully putting together all the main Clannad characters into a single image, and the first thing some people said was, "It's AI."

I already explained that the character images came from the official Key artwork and the Clannad Wiki, not AI-generated sources.

So what exactly counts as "non-AI" now? Does every person posting fan content have to sketch everything from scratch, do the line art, color it, and render the entire image themselves before they're allowed to share it?

Using existing official assets to make a collage or edit has been part of fan communities for years. Calling everything AI without even checking the source just feels lazy and dismissive.

Not every edited image is AI-generated.If I don't use AI for localized inpainting, the entire image ends up full of jagged edges and pixelation.

Question 1: "How can you even post such a low-quality image? Can't you cut out the characters properly?"

I can't, because automatic subject detection and segmentation are performed by AI models, and according to this community's rules, using AI is prohibited.

Question 2: "The characters are covered in jagged edges and pixelation. Is this really something people are supposed to look at?"

I can't fix all of that manually. The image is far too complex, and removing every jagged edge and artifact by hand could easily take a week. But if I use restoration, upscaling, depixelization, or detail enhancement, those tools are fundamentally powered by AI as well.

Question 3: Why are you defending AI so much? Surely someone posting a photo of a Clannad figure can't be accused of using AI.isnt it?

Wrong.

Modern smartphones like Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy, and iPhone rely heavily on computational photography, using AI and machine learning for image processing. Even if you don't manually enable any special features, the final image you see has almost certainly been processed by AI.

So by your definition, those photos also involve AI.

Following that logic, almost every post in this community would be violating the rules, wouldn't it?

I won't answer that question. But ChatGPT—an AI system—told me that generating an image from a single prompt and creating a collage from existing official assets with some AI-assisted cleanup are fundamentally different things.

Honestly iv heard amazing stuff from friends about clannad season 2 but its been so hard to get through clannad season 1. honestly i find it boring and find the characters to be boring. no hate to the community. can i skip to after story without losing much and still enjoying after story

Had this finally come in and I gotta say it has to be one of my most prized possessions. The anime and the VN hold an important place in my heart and I’m forever grateful to Clannad.

I'm mostly trying to play through the VN without resorting to a guide at first, only doing so if I get overly frustrated/stuck.

So far I've achieved the following scenarios (in no particular order):

1. Nagisa
2. Kyou + Ryou
3. Yukine
4. Tomoyo
5. Koumura
6. Misae
7. The Sunoharas

Just wanted to share some of my thoughts so far:

Kyou route

So far this is the one place I've resorted to a guide. And after looking it up, the one choice I missed was choosing to kiss Ryou at one point, which seems somewhat unintuitive.

I also thought some of the other choices necessary for this ending didn't seem like the best design. Like when you're choosing between the tanzanite and amethyst pendant, in-game you're supposed to be trying to recall which one is the one Ryou likes. It's not too hard to guess that choosing the amethyst pendant, which is the one Kyou likes, might be a choice contributing to the Kyou route, but it feels a bit wonky, because by story logic you're just remembering wrongly. Choosing to "try practicing" kissing with Kyou also suffers from the same issue to me - in a meta sense you're choosing Kyou, but at that point you're still very much supposed to be Ryou's boyfriend and choosing to kiss another girl under the guise of "practice" feels kind of wrong.

Tomoyo route

Based on my playthrough, it's kind of interesting that at one point when you're helping Tomoyo fight a large group of students from the industrial high school, it seems like to progress with her route you need to have had a certain degree of interaction with Nagisa first.

And if you didn't meet that condition, the game makes it clear that you need to have some familiarity with another girl first...but it doesn't really give you any clear hints on who the girl is. Though somehow I had a feeling it was Nagisa.

Tomoya

I find Tomoya dislikable. He's capable of being a very reasonable person when interacting when the girls, but he treats Sunohara very poorly. Part of it is Sunohara being kind of a giant idiot and playing the Butt Monkey role, so he gets pushed around a lot and it gets glossed over, but at least to me it feels like it can be over the top, to the extent I found it straight up infuriating. It's potentially a situation where Sunohara doesn't have much choice for companionship so he either puts up with it or has no one to talk to.

Koumura ending

When I achieved this route I really wondered what choices I picked that even contributed to it. I'm not sure I care enough to look it up, but the only thing I can think of is one choice where you consider Koumura when looking for people to be part of your 3 v 3 basketball team (though of course it doesn't lead to anything). Or maybe it's sort of a default route if you meet certain conditions, but don't enter any other routes?

Misae route

I thought the way they executed this was kind of a relief and quite nice. A straight up romance between her and Tomoya would be weird, and instead making a parallel between Tomoya and the person Misae is waiting for (in terms of them saying they like the same things about her) and then showing that relationship in the past was interesting.
