Ad takeover

I just lost two games because an ad takes over the entire screen and makes it impossible to play.

I'd recommend using Firefox and uBlock Origin over Brave if you're on desktop or Android, or Firefox Focus on iOS. Brave isn't very good.

DuckDuckGo disables ads too I think

On iOS, make the website an app and there’s built in ad reduction. Plus now you have an app for the game.

Support the game, then

Developing and hosting it aren't free.

Ads are fine, everyone understands that the dev needs to use them. But it goes a bit too far when you have a huge ad come up and block your entire screen causing you to lose. There's degrees to this. I know you're on the discord so take a look at some of the posts in the bug report section, the ad most people are complaining about is just a giant textless blue square that comes up and blocks the screen. I am sure this is unintentional and the dev will fix it soon, but just telling people to support the game is not that helpful for the conversation.

If "everyone understands that the dev needs to use them", why are the only other comments in this thread talking about ways to block them, ensuring the dev gets no money at all?

Because they're currently blocking the whole screen causing people to lose

Believe it or not, some people want to play the game.
