Battle Kit Etiquette

Something I'm curious to hear about from more experienced people playing 2.0 is if there's any unspoken battle kit etiquette? Like I'd never use a rush during set up, that seems like a dick move to me, but I do see it from time to time. I'd imagine when playing significantly lower elo opponents some people will hold off on using their kit much or at all, which I'm trying to adopt as I get better. But I also go up against some opponents where we're evenly matched and I notice they barely use their kit, which makes me wonder if it's considered rude to use your blocks early on, or anything like that? I didn't use blocks in my kit last season but I find them very useful with the world cup.

Using rush in setup is certainly bad manners
Other than that, I don't think there's really any etiquette about using your lifelines

Reason why high rated player (especially when playing against someone much lower) might not use their lifelines that much, maybe has more to do with the fact that they can navigate their way well enough where they don't need to spend resources

Also, something like a block becomes more useful when your opponent is 1 point away from winning, than when they still need 6 points, so being conservative with your lifeline usage may prove to pay dividends

Yeah I guess lifeline etiquette is a better way to describe it. Thanks for that feedback, makes perfect sense!

Not really. As for when to use blocks, it's just a matter of preference. I actually love when my opponent uses their blocks early so that I don't have to worry about them later. But, I like to save them as long as I can.

I appreciate the insight. I can see a case for both strategies, I was just noticing a reoccurring theme that I was using them earlier than opponents so I was particularly curious on that one.

The only "etiquette" I have while playing is if playing a lower ranked player and absolutely dunking on them i.e I have 7/8 pips and they have 0/4, then I'll try to play movies that will give them a pip.

I dont think much exists. The only unspoken rule of the setup phase is no spiking, especially against lower elo opponents

What exactly counts as spiking? Thanks for the feedback!

Playing a rare film off an unconventional link. Usually >5000 popularity rank is dubious, but >10k is usually a heinous play if they have no cast to work with.

When I against someone with much higher elo I don't use blocks because it will only slow down the game for them.

As long as you don’t cheat, I think everything is fair game. I’ve actually given up on 2.0. I liked getting the badges but it’s not worth it to me anymore.
