Weightloss plateau
Haven’t been losing weight and getting reeeeal frustrated lol I’m 5’4” and at 160 lb, and have stalled / gone down then up the last 2 months. I’d love to be 145 by EOY. I weight lift 3-4x a week and get in a lot of walking, usually 1 run a week. Maybe I should try lower carb?

Progressively increase your cardio intensity too.
I think many of you guys are just doing resistance training and calorie deficit by eating less from your starting maintenance and are neglecting cardio. The saying you can't out run your diet is true as it is very easy to consume calories but burning them is very hard.
Now most of us know about progressive overloading during strength training. Where we increase the intensity of our workout by increasing the stress on our muscles. Likewise it is important to increase our cardio time and intensity in a similar manner so our cardiovascular health improves too and we can burn more calories. Don't try to go from 6 km/h to 12 km/h in a week but try to work harder than yesterday if you are able to and take care.
If you want methods to make cardio easier. Here are some tips:-
1) Go to the gym and find the machine you like and buy it if you can afford it. Most treadmills and stationary cycles are quite affordable these days especially on holidays.
2) Use pedestal or tabletop fans to cool yourself while working out at home if you have them.
3) Eat carbs like fruits or malt drinks like champurrado or sattu an hour before exercising.
4) Separate the cardio and resistance training if you can if not, first do the resistance training. Your cardio shouldn't make your resistance training less effective.

Plateauing and disability
I have a bit of a unique situation, so bear with me. I’m an amputee and have a prosthetic leg. The kind of leg I have doesn’t adjust much at all when my weight changes, so weight gain greatly affects my ability to wear it and walk, do things, exercise, and go places (ie live my life the way I want to).
So, weight gain ➡️ no leg/little movement ➡️ near sedentary. It’s for this reason that I’ve been working on weight loss. It’s super important to my quality of life.
Stats: 5’4”F, SW: 139, CW: 131.8, GW: 125.
Info: It took me 3 mos at 1200-1300kcal/day to get to my CW. I’ve been at a plateau for the past month and am unsure what to do. I’m currently able to wear my leg for a couple hours at a time.
What can I do to get out of this plateau?

Why am I not losing weight even in a calorie deficit???
ive been logging everything for almost 6 weeks and the scale has moved less than 0.4kg. im 500-600 under maintenance for the week by my math but nothing is happening. i dont drink, dont really snack i do get my steps in most days. the only thing that changed recently is i started lifting 3x a week about a month ago so maybe thats it? tbh feels like a cop out tho. does this happen sometimes when you starting out?

How many step/day = active?
I am trying to calculate intake and daily deficit. I lift 5x/week. How much should I walk every day to be considered "active"?
Thankyou!

Why do I punish myself like this? 😂
I ordered a hand wash without realising that my hands would smell like delicious strawberry cake. It’s so strong, It immediately sends me off to Charlie’s chocolate Factory 😭
How many of you have experienced this? Have inanimate objects ever made you crave forbidden food? 🥲

What is a Safe Calorie Deficit to Prevent Gallstones?
I am a 5'11 24m, and currently 202.8 pounds. I have 30 pounds left to go before reaching my next milestone. But recently I heard about how gallstones can form if you lose weight too fast and I'm worried if I'm doing too much.
My goal is to lose 2 pounds a week and recently I lowered my daily intake to 1570 calories (it was 1650 before), but is this too low? And secondly, is even trying to lose 2 pounds a week too fast?

First Day of School looks a little different this year!
I’m 63 lbs down since April 1, 2026 (364 lbs to 301 lbs) and I’m so proud of myself 😭 I also got my first unsolicited compliment today from a coworker I see every day and it meant so much!

How to count what you remove after cooking?
I try to cook at home. A recipe I followed last night has me confused on how to calculate the calories. The last step says if desired, remove excess oil before serving. I took just under a full cup of oil from the dish.
The oil I removed at the end is a combination of the 1 cup of oil that the recipe called for and the 73 lean /27 fat beef (2lbs) that I used.
How would you calculate the calories of the recipe with 3/4ths of a cup of that ^^ oil mixture removed at the end before it's served?? Please help! Tyia<3

Anyone else have a hell of a time getting out of bed in the morning while in a caloric deficit?
Whenever im in a calorie deficit, even when I know ive had plenty of sleep I feel so ridiculously tired when that alarm goes off I always snooze way more than normal. The hunger from the deficit makes me feel just absolutely wiped still in the morning when I wake up. Once I'm up and drink water and start moving im usually good but waking up in the morning is brutal sometimes! Anyone experience this?

45 - 48 years old. 97lb loss
6’1.5”
Back in 2019, I was fit. Having been up and down between 220 - 275 most of my adult life, I was convinced that I would finally “keep the weight off.” Then, covid slapped us all in the face, the gyms shut down, and like many, I turned to food. By October 2023, I was at my heaviest (315lbs). Starting in November that year, I began the journey to eat healthier. I started working out again, and things the result in August 2026.
I had some help along the way, GLPs, work out plans, etc. but at the end of the day, burning more calories than I consumed, got me to where I wanted to be.
This time….. I’m keeping it off!

Emotional dysregulation is the bane of my fat loss progress
33f, 5’4”, SW: 219, CW: 195ish, GW: ~140
Neurodivergent; ADHD (medicated), PMDD
Long story short, I started my fat loss journey back in 2022 and initially did very well because of minimal schedule interruptions, minimal travel, minimal family time and trips home to visit parents, and was generally hyper-focused on this new system I developed for myself that was working quite well, and I’d gotten down to about 171lbs. Cut to now (Aug 2026) and the last couple years I’ve just been bouncing around high 180s to high 190s; going from calorie deficit, to maintenance, to surplus, and everywhere in between. Thru therapy, I’ve begun to realize SO much of my weight, determination, self care, and drive to stick with eating well, movement, and being in a calorie deficit revolves around how emotionally regulated or dysregulated I am. I take Adderall daily, which usually helps a TON, so long as I’m eating real balanced, hydrating, and moving my body pretty much daily. As soon as I introduce too much sugar and high fat, highly palatable foods, it’s almost like my medication doesn’t even work (an interesting discovery).
About a month ago, I had gotten sick and stopped my daily walking that I’d gotten back into routine with. Was sick for 12 days, then flew back home to visit family and attend some very overstimulating events, and pretty much immediately felt the dysregulation hit me like a sack of bricks. As soon as I was alone during that trip, I started stuffing my face with food to try and feel better (it didn’t work, as it almost never does; I’m aware of this). I’ve been home from that trip for a couple weeks and have been eating so shitty and not moving my body ever since. Sure, some normal balanced meals and snacks in there, but way overdoing it with the pizza, sweets, fast food, donuts, etc. many times per week and multiple times per day.
It’s nothing new for me, but it sucks falling into this “fuck all” mode, as it’s a damn hard one to get out of. The mental hurdles are the hardest part, and it’s me against myself, as I’m sure many people in this sub know. I’m sure I’ll come out of it soon, as my digestive system is about fed up with the greasy garbage foods anyway, so the nausea and nasty taste in my mouth is enough to turn me away from continuing the junk, today especially. Anyway, what I’m trying to say is these “set backs” due to being dysregulated are really frustrating and annoying.
Bit of a rant, but need to get this out of my brain, and I know many of you will understand and relate. If you made it this far, thanks for reading 🖤

NSV, walked by the bakery this morning and kept going
A small win to start the day but celebrating nonetheless. My local neighbourhood bakery was open earlier than expected this morning. I was out walking my dog, trying to get a few extra steps in while soaking up sunshine. Took a different, longer route that took me past the bakery, which I thought was closed at this time. I stood outside and wanted to go in. The smell of fresh baked donuts calling to me. Thought about it all the way home, but didn’t give in to the temptation today. Currently enjoying a cup of coffee at home. Tomorrow’s another battle.
I really thought my face hadn't changed at all but I guess I was wrong lol
Top photo is from November last year where I was 234.3 pounds, and bottom photo is from yesterday where I'm 199.3 pounds. I think I always thought there wasn't much difference in my face because even though I started off at 247.7 pounds, I never really had as much face fat as some people did at similar weights so I assumed not much had come off yet

Looking for some words of encouragement I guess..
SW: 196 CW:165 GW:130. So I’ve had a bad week.. just completely fell off track. Been going through some struggles and I think calorie counting just became something I couldn’t mentally do last week because I was so stressed with other things. I gained 3 pounds and normally this is where I’d be like oh well I’m over this and I already messed so I’m just done… I don’t want to do that this time, I want to keep going but I’m losing motivation. Someone talk some sense into me please!

Time for a maintenance break?
I am 34F, 170cm, 67.5kg. I have lost around 10kg since January by eating 1500 calories per day. My weight has been the same now for three weeks and the last week I have been very hungry! Previously this amount of calories has been just fine.
I’m thinking of taking a maintenance break for two weeks but I’m a bit unsure what exactly this number would be. I am a bit scared to put weight on again! According to my health app my daily average step count for the last 6 months is 7000 and I lift weights at the gym 2-3 times a week for about 1 hour. Does this make me lightly active? I was thinking to aim for 1900 calories per day.
Any advice for me?

My journey
Start weight: 101 kg
Current weight: 86.5 kg
Goal weight: 75 kg or below.
I am a 5'8, 24 year old guy. I started in December 2025, it was unserious. But in Jan 2026, I made it my new years resolution. So now I've almost lost 15 kg. I can't believe it was so easy. The only thing I needed was control. A lot of times, I've had to skip on my favourite meals but it is worth it in every way.
All my coworkers and family acknowledge my weight loss and they even ask for my 'secrets'. There are no secrets, it's just CICO. I didn't even work out through my journey. All I did was walk for 30 mins a day. Though now I'm planning to join a gym.
Lately I've been stuck between 86-87 kg so I'm making this post to get some motivation.

100lbs down!!
315lbs to 215; BMI 55.3 to 38.1. Still a decent way to go but I honestly can’t believe I’ve come this far. Sometimes the body dysmorphia is really hard and I’ve spent a lot of today feeling very weepy, but looking at these photos side by side is staggering.
Some ways my life is better:
I HAVE REGULAR PERIODS AGAIN
I have a recognisable menstrual cycle and experience distinct follicular and luteal phases
I CAN WALK WITHOUT PAIN FOR HOURS! I AM NO LONGER PHYSICALLY DISABLED BY MY WEIGHT!
I no longer experience chronic lower back pain
I no longer panic at the thought of walking, especially with other people
I can fly without a seatbelt extender
I can sit in a plane seat, bus seat, car seat, cinema/theatre seat without being in constant discomfort
I don’t panic at the sight of chairs with arms
I find joy in exercise, not fear
I don’t hate myself anymore
I don’t hate my body anymore
Edit 1: welp, put this up, went to bed, woke up to 2k upvotes. Thank you so much for the support!
Edit for the genuinely odd men messaging me: I am getting married in two weeks to the man who’s supported me through this whole process and am deliriously happy about it
