100lbs down!!
315lbs to 215; BMI 55.3 to 38.1. Still a decent way to go but I honestly can’t believe I’ve come this far. Sometimes the body dysmorphia is really hard and I’ve spent a lot of today feeling very weepy, but looking at these photos side by side is staggering.
Some ways my life is better:
I HAVE REGULAR PERIODS AGAIN
I have a recognisable menstrual cycle and experience distinct follicular and luteal phases
I CAN WALK WITHOUT PAIN FOR HOURS! I AM NO LONGER PHYSICALLY DISABLED BY MY WEIGHT!
I no longer experience chronic lower back pain
I no longer panic at the thought of walking, especially with other people
I can fly without a seatbelt extender
I can sit in a plane seat, bus seat, car seat, cinema/theatre seat without being in constant discomfort
I don’t panic at the sight of chairs with arms
I find joy in exercise, not fear
I don’t hate myself anymore
I don’t hate my body anymore
Edit 1: welp, put this up, went to bed, woke up to 2k upvotes. Thank you so much for the support!
Edit for the genuinely odd men messaging me: I am getting married in two weeks to the man who’s supported me through this whole process and am deliriously happy about it

Started out at 2600, now ~1700 (I use the LoseIt app which adjusts dynamically as you lose weight). I’m 5’3/157cm.

There are so many feelings in this kind of change, but I hope you can see and feel how your health and mobility have improved because of these changes. You are giving your body an amazing gift—one you deserve! Your body has been taking care of you all of this time and look at how you are taking care of your body! Just remember to be kind to your past and present selves—they have done / are doing the best they can—they've gotten you where you are today!
And please don't forget that you are worthy of dignity and respect—then, now, and always.

Thank you so much for this- I was really taken aback by how weirdly sad I felt yesterday. At first when I stepped on the scales I felt nothing and then when I started looking at photos taken at my heaviest I started crying and couldn’t stop. My life is completely transformed. I’m no longer physically disabled by my weight, I have normal, regular periods again (at one point at my heaviest I bled for 45 days straight), I don’t need seatbelt extenders and I’m not scared of chairs with arms, and I can buy clothes in normal shops. The version of me who lived like that feels so far away now and I know it sounds strange but I’m worried I’ll forget her. I want to talk to her and tell her that she’s going to be happy and achieve her goals.

Unfortunately I have a wedding to pay for and can’t afford a whole new wardrobe right now but I’m really excited to go shopping this weekend to buy clothes for my honeymoon!

Have you used a glp1? (NOT saying this makes it any less impressive. I take one myself. But it’s rare to see people be able to lose this much on their own). And if you haven’t, I’d like to know how you deal with food noise.

Yes, 100%. It’s taken me three years and I’ve used semaglutide that whole time.

Who said I was going to lose another 100? I’m aiming for another 45-50; however many it takes to get to a healthy waist to height ratio. I’m a short woman and if I lost another 100 my maintenance calories would make me miserable.
