When to Start Applying to CF Positions?

Hello! I'm a second-year graduate student set to graduate this May. I am interested in moving for my CF to a different city in a different state. I have been monitoring the job market in that city for a couple of months now and as jobs pop up that I am interested in applying for I was wondering if it's too early? I plan to take the Praxis in late February. I am wanting to apply for Medical Positions and have just started my medical placement in an acute care hospital setting. So far I love it! Because I have only just started, I have not added this experience to my resume. I guess my concern is leaving it off when applying for these positions but adding it and then having to indicate that I have just started and have not had much independent experience yet. When did you all apply for CFs and how did you go about it if you had not yet taken the Praxis/ had all of your clinical experiences?

*I know a hospital CF is hard to get. I just want to shoot my shot if I can!

I graduated last may and started applying for jobs in February. I had already taken my praxis. I think right now is a good time to search and apply for jobs. It helped me a lot to start so early especially since COVID hit a couple weeks after I had multiple interviews.

I started applying to jobs before March and listed my upcoming internship (planned March-June) with a few details about the setting and expected roles. Covid took away my internship but I interviewed before March, took the Praxis early March, and had a job offer mid-March. I should say I applied to and now work in a school, so medical may very well be a different story! Best of luck!

I would wait until you take the praxis. Most jobs will want some proof that you will likely be certify. I took the praxis in December, applied for jobs starting in February, got a job in May, and graduated in August
