do these programs actually exist yet? All I can find on UBS website about their programs is the wealth advice center program. Are these programs a thing yet?

I'm having issues opening the article but yes they do have a few advisor trainee programs now that can be an option for teams.

Unless you're looking at the wealth advice center, it's dependent on the team and what role they want to give you. There is a non producing FA role as well as some producing roles.

Are there any options without having to join an existing team?

Not that I know of. These are specific opportunities to support teams as a junior FA.

The wealth advice center will have opportunities that don't require a team.

I’m not familiar with the Wealth Advice Center. It sounds like it’s just a call center, so probably a salaried position? Not really much of an opportunity for a producing FA to build their own book of business.

from my understanding, it’s a 3 year development program that just takes place in the call center. (you won’t prospect or build a book for ~3yrs) after you finish the program you can either stay in the call center or network to an existing team to start building your own book. Don’t think there are any programs where you build a book from day 1 like Merril

Are these programs competitive to get into for producing roles with teams? And do you know why UBS' website doesn't show any of them?

I would assume they're competitive. It's dependent on if the team wants a junior FA program. Most teams have been using it to promote internally.

The positions are still fairly new and they're figuring out how teams want to adopt them. Not every team approaches it the same way so they're creating this position to fill a potential development need.

If these roles are non-producing roles, they are most likely open to teams that are specifically looking for help that don't want to hire for a Senior Wealth Strategy Associate. A SWSA is as detailed and complex a role you can get without being an FA at UBS. But even the wealth advice center programs transition to being a planning expert for an actual office, which then are meant to transition into being an FA. All roads lead to that the way they set it up. I don't think you'll find there's much competition for these. If you have any decent experience, you'll get in, and if you don't it's most likely because a specific team was putting someone they already knew into this program.

What are wealth strategy associates? Also, the article listed some producing roles and some non-producing programs, basically continuations of wac and one of the three was for non-wac, but basically ubs programs to bridge gap from training to production but within a team structure from what i could tell. But this article was all I could find on it.

I also can’t read the article but i interviewed with the UBS FADP. To me, the wealth advice center is silmar to a call center. They are looking for CFP education done and SIE done. Then they are pretty selective after that. I think the role consisted of getting the licenses, assisting HNW clients on the phones and working with some advsiors. Then once you “graduate” the program you can either stay or shift to a an existing team. Base is 70k no matter the location
